What to Expect

You’re never too old to learn to ski or ride. With January being Beginner's Ski Month, there's no better time to take advantage of our Beginner's Magic Group Lessons. From the right rental gear to making your way down the mountain with confidence, our Adult Beginner’s Magic lessons will help you get started with skiing or snowboarding. Give us three days and you’ll be hooked for life.

In this lesson, our Pros will teach you the basics of skiing or snowboarding, how to elicit peak performance, determining what the right equipment is for you and how to use it, and mountain awareness. Our accelerated learning method — taught by some of our top Pros — will help you quickly build confidence on the slopes.

These lessons include a lift ticket for the dedicated beginner areas of the mountain (where you can learn at your own pace) and your own Beginner’s Magic rental equipment — customized to meet the needs of beginners and allow for supreme comfort as you get started.

Note: Advanced beginner to expert skiers and snowboarders should take Adult Group Lessons at Buttermilk or Snowmass.

What to Bring

  • Make sure you are well-hydrated before the lesson so that you can handle the elevation and exercise.
  • Leave the cotton clothing at home, as cotton tends to make you even colder when you exercise. Dress in moisture wicking layers, even in the cold.
  • Bring sunscreen and lip protection.
  • Don't forget money for lunch.

Special Considerations

  • Helpful tip: If at all possible, pick up your lift tickets and rentals the day before your scheduled lesson.
  • Helmets – Helmets are recommended. While helmets may reduce the severity of a head injury, the best way to avoid accidents is to know and abide by the skier/rider responsibility code.
