Snowmass

Max 5 Adult First Time Group Lessons

First Time Ski

Location: Top of Elk Camp Gondola. Lesson starts at 10am and ends at 3pm.

Pick up rental equipment: At the top of the Elk Camp Gondola.

Give yourself one hour before your lesson to get your Aspen Card, ride the Elk Camp Gondola, and complete the rental process at the top of the gondola. Participants should have their rental equipment, Aspen Card, and be dressed and ready at the meeting area no later than 9:45am.

Pro Tip: Pick up your Aspen Card at a Pickup Box using your QR code and skip the Ticket Office.

First Time Snowboard

Location: Base Village Plaza by the Base Camp fire pit. Lesson starts at 10am and ends at 3pm.

Pick up rental equipment: From the Snowmass Base Village Four Mountain Sports. Lesson starts at 10am

Give yourself one hour before your lesson to get your Aspen Card and snowboard rentals. Participants should have their rental equipment, Aspen Card, and be dressed and ready at the meeting area no later than 9:45am. Look for the Snowboard Check In.

Pro Tips: Save time by renting equipment after 2pm the day before and have it stored overnight with Four Mountain Sports. Pick up your Aspen Card at a Pickup Box using your QR code and skip the Ticket Office.


Max 5 Adult Group Lessons and Clinics

Group Lesson Ski

Give yourself 45 minutes before your lesson to get your Aspen Card and ski rentals. Participants should have their rental equipment, Aspen Card, and be dressed and ready at the meeting area no later than 9:45am. Look for the Locals Clinic Check In.

Max 5 Teen Group Lessons

Teen Ski Lesson

Location: Base Village Plaza, above the steps on the snow, next to the Village Express Chairlift. Lesson starts at 9:30am and ends at 3pm.

Allow at least 45 minutes before your lesson if an equipment rental is needed. Participants should have their Ski and Snowboard School waiver completed, emergency medical card filled out (can be found under My Profile & Household here), as well as their rental equipment, Aspen Card, and be dressed and ready at the meeting area no later than 9:15am.

Teen Snowboard Lesson

Location: Base Village Plaza by the Base Camp fire pit. Lesson starts at 9:30am and ends at 3pm.

Check in is on Level 2. Participants will be fitted with rental equipment after drop-off/check in. Participants should have their Ski and Snowboard School waiver completed, emergency/medical info completed (can be found under My Profile & Household here), as well as their Aspen Card, and be dressed in their ski clothes at drop off.

Pro Tip: Lesson starts at 9:30 and so please drop off your child by 9am so they will have adequate time to be fitted prior to the lesson.

Age 2.5-3 Program

Location: Inside the Treehouse Kids' Adventure Center. Program starts at 9:30am and ends at 3pm.

Check in is on Level 1. Participants will be fitted with rental equipment after drop-off/check in. Participants should have their Ski and Snowboard School waiver completed, emergency medical card filled out (can be found under My Profile & Household here), as well as their Aspen Card, and be dressed in their ski clothes at drop off.

Private Lessons

Full Day and Half Day AM

Location: Base Village Plaza, Ski meets between Base Camp and Four Mountain Sports. Snowboard meets at the fire pit by Base Camp. Lesson starts at 9am and ends at 12pm.

Allow at least 45 minutes before the Private Lesson if an equipment rental is needed. Participants should have their rental equipment, Aspen Card, and be dressed and ready at the meeting area at 9am. All participants under the age of 17 should have the Ski and Snowboard School waiver completed prior to arrival area. Look for the Private Lesson Sign.

Half Day PM

Location: Base Village Plaza, Ski meets between Base Camp and Four Mountain Sports. Snowboard meets at the fire pit by Base Camp. Lesson starts at 12:30pm and ends at 3:30pm.

Allow at least 45 minutes before the Private Lesson if an equipment rental is needed. Participants should have their rental equipment, Aspen Card, and be dressed and ready at the meeting area at 12:30pm. All participants under the age of 17 should have the Ski and Snowboard School waiver completed prior to arrival area. Look for the Private Lesson Sign.

Buttermilk

Pro Tip: The Guest Services building at the base of Buttermilk acts as a one-stop shop for guests to purchase tickets, rent gear, shop at Four Mountain Sports, and dial in everything needed before a lesson.

Private Lessons

Location: Buttermilk Plaza. Lesson starts at 9am and ends at 12pm (half day) or 3pm (full day).

Allow at least 45 minutes before the Private Lesson or Guided Experience if an equipment rental is needed. Participants should have their rental equipment, Aspen Card, and be dressed and ready at the meeting area at 9am. All participants under the age of 17 should have the Ski and Snowboard School waiver completed prior to arrival area. Meeting area is by the private lesson banner at the base of the steps leading up to the Summit Express.

Half Day PM

Location: Buttermilk Plaza. Lesson starts at 12:30pm and end 3:30pm.

Allow at least 45 minutes before the Private Lesson or Guided Experience if an equipment rental is needed. Participants should have their rental equipment, Aspen Card, and be dressed and ready at the meeting area at 12:30pm. All participants under the age of 17 should have the Ski and Snowboard School waiver completed prior to arrival area. Meeting area is by the private lesson banner at the base of the steps leading up to the Summit Express.

Location: Top of Exhibition Lift. Lesson starts at 10am and ends at 3pm.

Give yourself one hour before your clinic to get your Aspen Card, rental equipment, and to ride the Exhibition lift. Participants should have their rental equipment, Aspen Card, be dressed and ready at the meeting area no later than 9:45am.

Pro Tip: Clinics meet by the ski racks outside Merry-Go-Round.

Give yourself 1 hour before your clinic to get your Aspen Card, rental equipment, and to ride the Silver Queen Gondola. Participants should have their rental equipment, Aspen Card, be dressed and ready at the meeting area no later than 9:45am.

Pro Tip: Grab a coffee from Aspen Collection to enjoy on your ride up the gondola.


Private Lessons

Frequently Asked Questions

How many guests can be included in a Private Lesson?

Lessons allow up to 5 participants. This provides the best experience for the guest.

How can guests complete waivers and registration forms ahead of time?

Guests can visit the Aspen Snowmass account portal or the Aspen Snowmass App to complete Ski & Snowboard School waivers and registration forms ahead of time. Waivers are required for all guests 17 and under.

Are reservations required for Ski and Snowboard School Lessons or Clinics?

Yes. Reservations are required for all Ski and Snowboard School products, including Clinics, Max 5 Lessons, and Private Lessons . We strongly encourage reserving at least 7 days in advance. Reservations can be booked online at shop.aspensnowmass.com or by calling one of our agents at 877-308-7859.

When I book a Private Lesson, what can I expect in terms of added perks?

Guests who book a Private Lesson can set the meeting time and location as well as curate their experience and agenda for the day with the insight and knowledge from their Pro. Lessons also give priority line access when loading our chairlifts and gondolas. Lift ticket and rentals are purchased a la carte. Private Lessons can include instruction or a guided terrain experience.

Do child lessons include lunch?

Yes, all full-day, max 5 child lessons, ages 12 and under include lunch. Private lessons are excluded.

Are you still providing storage and transfer with Private Lessons this year?

Yes, Private Lesson guests will still be able to store and transfer their skis, snowboards and poles to the mountain of their choice for free.

What is your cancellation policy on Ski & Snowboard School lessons?

All Ski and Snowboard School products canceled or changed 48 hours or more in advance are fully refundable.

First Time Skier

Level 1: “I’ve never skied.”

Green Zone Skiers

Level 2: “I can slide, slightly change direction, and come to a stop.” – Easiest green terrain

Level 3: “I can link turns together and stop where I want to on the easiest green terrain. My turns are usually all the same size.” – Green terrain

Level 4: “I am linking turns together smoothly on all green terrain. I can make narrow and wide turns” – All green and easiest blue terrain

Blue Zone Skiers

Level 5: “I am skiing mostly parallel in a couple different turn sizes and shapes on most blue terrain. I am beginning to use my poles and can hockey stop in both directions.” - All green terrain and most blue terrain

Level 6: “I am skiing parallel and confidently on all groomed blue terrain. I am exploring un-groomed trails and the easiest bumps. I usually make the same turn sizes and shapes on un-groomed trails.” – All groomed blues, easy blue bumps, easy groomed blacks

Level 7: “I am able to smoothly link parallel turns together with a pole plant on all blue and black terrain. I am exploring un-groomed black terrain, including bumps. I can connect different turn sizes and shapes seamlessly for the different challenges.” – All blue terrain and most black terrain

Black Zone Skiers
