Our coaches teach everything from first time downhill mountain biking to cornering and jumping techniques while continuing to improve your bike handling skills. Our bike Pros will share the skills needed to master the beginner, intermediate, and advanced downhill mountain bike trails that Snowmass Bike Park has to offer.

Intro to Downhill Clinic

Riding Snowmass Bike Park may be slightly different than the mountain biking you are used to. There are manmade obstacles and features like jumps, wooden features, and drops. If you are not sure about your ability, go with a Pro and experience the fun of the Snowmass Bike Park during a 3-hour Intro to Downhill Clinic.

Taught by our specially trained coaches, this introductory lesson is for first-time downhill mountain bikers looking to learn the basics of the sport. The lesson is taught on fun, beginner-friendly terrain and includes an introduction to the equipment, as well as, the essential components for downhill biking – stance, braking, and bike control.



What to Expect

If you come from a road or a cross-country cycling background, you will want to take this clinic as there are subtle differences and nuances in downhill mountain biking. Our Bike Pros will share the skills needed to master the beginner and the intermediate downhill mountain bike trails that Snowmass Bike Park has to offer. The clinic begins in the Snowmass Mountain Bike skills park and will progress to downhill trails. Riders must be at least 18 years of age and know how to ride a bike.

What's Included: Professional instruction and coaching.

Time: Morning Half Day: 10am-1pm or Afternoon Half Day: 1:30pm-4:30pm

Dates: Offered daily June 21 - September 5 and weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) September 9 - October 2.

Location: Meet at the Four Mountain Sports in the Snowmass Base Village Plaza 15 minutes prior to your clinic start time dressed, with gear/bike and ready to go.

Note: If renting equipment, plan on arriving at Four Mountain Sports at least one hour before the clinic to pick up your bike and gear.

Downhill Bike Clinic

Looking to build your descending skills? Take your riding to the next level and let our certified coaches build your confidence and skill base in a friendly environment. Our coaches will teach cornering and jumping technique while continuing to improve your bike handling skills.

What to Expect

The clinic begins in the Snowmass mountain bike skills park and will progress to downhill trails. Riders must be 18 years or older to participate in the Downhill Skills Clinic and should have previous downhill experience.

Private Bike Lessons
Join our Bike Pros for some mountain excitement complete with dust, sweat, and thrills with your family and friends. Our bike coaches will personalize your experience and challenge you in taking your skills to the next level. Downhill and cross country mountain biking lessons available.

We will customize your private lesson to your interests and ability level so that you can make the most out of your time. Rates are for groups of 1 to 5. Recommended for ages 8 and above and all participants must know how to ride a bike.






What to Expect

What's Included: Private instruction and lift access. Bike rentals are not included, but can be rented from Four Mountain Sports.

Time: Full Day: 10am-4pm, Morning Half Day: 10am-1pm, Afternoon Half Day: 1:30pm-4:30pm

Kids & Teens Mountain Bike Clinics

Kids and Teen Bike Camp
With a focus on downhill terrain, kids spend the day on-mountain riding the dirt to develop their mountain bike skills with our specially trained coaches. Skill development will include: safety, trail etiquette, stance, braking, cornering, and bike maintenance. Recommended for ages 8-17.



What to Expect

What's Included: Instruction, lift access, and full-day supervision

Time: 9:30am-3:30pm

Dates: Available Monday-Friday, June 27 - August 26
Location: Meet in Snowmass Base Village Plaza outside of the Treehouse Kids' Adventure Center 15 minutes prior to the start of the Clinic. Please arrive dressed, with gear/bike and ready to go.

Note: If renting equipment, plan on arriving at Four Mountain Sports at least ONE HOUR before the clinic to pick up your bike and gear.


3-Day Kids Mountain Bike Camps

Kids 3 Day Bike Camp
With the tremendous growth in youth biking in the Roaring Fork Valley and the growth of the outstanding programs offered by Roaring Fork Cycling, we are excited to continue our partnership between the Snowmass Bike School and Roaring Fork Cycling.
Beginning this June, we will work together to host 3-day mountain biking camps for grades one through six. Kids will ride on trails throughout Snowmass Village and on Snowmass Mountain while learning skills and growing their love for the sport. All riding will be age and ability appropriate.



What to Expect

3-Day Mountain Bike Camp Grades 1 & 2
Camp Description: Students will learn basic biking skills, build more comfort and confidence on and off the bike, and explore their surroundings all while having fun on our trails! All skill levels are welcome but no training wheels, please.
Time:
Morning Half Day: 9am-12pm or Afternoon Half Day: 12:30-3:30pm

Camps run Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, June 6 - August 12
Location: Base of Two Creeks, Snowmass Village


Extended Day Option: This option is available for those Campers that need supervision during the afternoon. Campers must be registered for the first and second grade morning sessions in order to participate in the extension and must register for all three extension days (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) at a time. Although Campers will not be on the trails, they will participate in activities such as Eurobungy, hiking, fishing, and more. Additional registration is required and may only be done by emailing summeractivities@aspensnowmass.com. Please register by 5pm on the Thursday prior to the start of the Camp week.

3-Day Mountain Bike Camp Grades 3 & 4

Camp Description: The small group ratios will allow these riders to progress with both their skill development and confidence all while exploring their surroundings. We will have fun discovering all the places we can go on our bikes!

3-Day Mountain Bike Camp Grades 5 & 6

Camp Description: Camp is designed for young riders who have shown a passion and skill set to ride adventurous trails. Riders will work on biking skills such as speed control, riding through rocky terrain, proficient braking, adequate shifting technique, as well as ascending and descending technique. These age groups will spend more time on the trail while still keeping it chill enough to appreciate our natural environment.
