Lift-accessed mountain biking can be intimidating, but with the help of our Snowmass Bike Park coaches, adventure meets accessibility, and every rider can discover their perfect trail.

Looking to level up so you can enjoy more rides down? Our coaches teach everything from first-time downhill mountain biking to cornering and jumping techniques while continuing to improve your bike handling skills. Our bike coaches will share the tips and tricks needed to master the beginner, intermediate, and advanced downhill mountain bike trails that Snowmass Bike Park has to offer.

Intro to Downhill Bike Clinic

Riding Snowmass Bike Park may be slightly different than the mountain biking you are used to. There are manmade obstacles and features like jumps, wooden features, and drops. If you are not sure about your ability, go with a coach and experience the fun of the Snowmass Bike Park during a 3-hour Intro to Downhill Clinic.

Taught by our specially trained coaches, this introductory lesson is for first-time downhill mountain bikers looking to learn the basics of the sport. The lesson is taught on fun, beginner-friendly terrain and includes an introduction to the equipment, as well as, the essential components for downhill biking – stance, braking, and bike control.

This is class is for people 18 and older. Starting at $99.




What to Expect

If you come from a road or a cross-country cycling background, you will want to take this bike clinic as there are subtle differences and nuances in downhill mountain biking. Our bike coaches will share the skills needed to master the beginner and the intermediate downhill mountain bike trails that Snowmass Bike Park has to offer. The bike clinic begins in the Snowmass Mountain Bike Skills Park and will progress to downhill trails. Riders must be at least 18 years of age and know how to ride a bike.

What's Included: Professional instruction and coaching. Lift access must be purchased separately.

Time: Morning Half Day: 10am-1pm or Afternoon Half Day: 1:30pm-4:30pm

Dates: Offered daily June 21 - September 2 and weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) September 5 - 29.

Location: Meet at the Four Mountain Sports in the Snowmass Base Village Plaza 15 minutes prior to your clinic start time dressed, with gear/bike and ready to go.

Recommended Gear:

  • Helmets required for all participants. A full-face helmet is required while riding intermediate terrain and higher or for any jumping skill progression. Half-shell helmets may be worn on Beginner and Green rated trails. If you are unsure which helmet to wear we recommend a full-face helmet.
  • Helmets and safety packages/pads are available to purchase or for rent at Snowmass Base Village - Four Mountain Sports.
  • Eye Protection (sunglasses or goggles)
  • Closed Toe Shoes
  • Full Finger Gloves
  • Moisture Wicking Tops (try to stay away from tank tops)
  • Shorts or Leggings

Intermediate Downhill Skills Clinic

Looking to build your descending skills? Take your riding to the next level and let our certified coaches build your confidence and skill base in a friendly environment. Our coaches will teach cornering and jumping techniques while continuing to improve your bike handling skills.

This is class is for people 18 and older. Starting at $99

Private Bike Lessons

Join our bike coaches for some mountain excitement complete with dust, sweat, and thrills with your family and friends. Our bike coaches will personalize your experience and challenge you in taking your skills to the next level. Downhill and cross-country mountain biking lessons are available. Snowmass Bike Park access is included with a private bike lesson.

We will customize your private bike lesson to your interests and ability level so that you can make the most out of your time. Rates are for groups of 1 to 5 bikers. Recommended for ages 8 and above and all participants must know how to ride a bike.






What to Expect

What's Included: Private instruction and lift access. Bike rentals are not included, but can be rented from Four Mountain Sports.

Time: Full Day: 10am-4pm, Morning Half Day: 10am-1pm, Afternoon Half Day: 1:30pm-4:30pm

Clinics range from downhill to cross-country and everything in-between and are broken out by skill level and desired disciplines. So, if you're looking to improve your trail riding or climbing skills, we've got you covered. Step up your know-how with a Bike Locals Clinic, available for ages 18 and older. Starting at $77.

Kids & Teens Downhill Bike Camp

With a focus on downhill terrain, kids spend the day on-mountain riding the dirt to develop their mountain bike skills with our specially trained coaches. Skill development will include: safety, trail etiquette, stance, braking, cornering, and bike maintenance. Recommended for ages 8-17. Starting at $206.

Dates: Available Monday-Friday, June 24 - August 23.

3-Day Kids Mountain Bike Camps

In partnership with Roaring Fork Cycling, we are hosting 3-day mountain biking camps for ages 5-15. Kids will ascend and descend on mountain bike trails throughout Snowmass Village while learning skills and growing their love for the sport. All riding will be age and ability appropriate. Camp Passes are not valid for 3-Day Mountain Bike Camps. Campers must register for the entire three day session. Starting at $402.

3-Day Mountain Bike Camp Ages 5-17
Camp Description: The small group ratios will allow these riders to progress with both their biking skills development and confidence all while exploring their surroundings. We will have fun discovering all the places we can go on our bikes!

Trail Academy

Trail Academy combines expert coaching, thrilling trail exploration, and guided park laps to build technical mastery and confidence. Our full-day format allows young riders to progress at their own pace while developing essential skills and a lifelong passion for the sport. Through personalized instruction and progressive challenges, riders will master everything from advanced trail techniques to downhill riding fundamentals. Priced at $880.
