In summertime, Snowmass’ deep stashes of powder give way to waist-high wildflowers and tranquil aspen forests. Things literally shift gears, as mountain bikers of all abilities ride up the Elk Camp Gondola and gleefully ride down its 50 miles of trails. Hikers can take a nature tour and families can enjoy endless fun at Camp Aspen Snowmass. New this year is the Lost Forest, complete with the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster, a ropes course and zipline.

As you board the Silver Queen Gondola in the heart of downtown Aspen, you’ll quickly discover how different this legendary mountain is in summer. Saturated in all shades of green, the mountain’s slopes take on a whole new meaning. Access hiking trails, enjoy yoga and bluegrass from the mountain top, or simply bask in the Sundeck’s view with a delicious lunch. The mountain is calling.

Note: the Silver Queen Gondola will be undergoing routine maintenance throughout June and will be closed during this time.

For the first time, Buttermilk will be open for a period of time this summer (2021). That's because, while the Silver Queen Gondola undergoes routine maintenance in June, we will shift operations to the mountain that's become famous for its mountaintop views of Pyramid Peak. Enjoy lunch at the Cliffhouse, go on a hike, or play a round of disc golf. For the first half of summer, it's happening at Buttermilk!
