“Aspen Highlands is a great local’s secret. Maybe the secret is out, but it has always been a local’s mountain. Not too much is a secret around here anymore. So my favorite secrets — I might have to keep secret.” –Michael Johnston, Executive Chef at Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro

Adored by Locals
Of the four mountains, Aspen Highlands avoids the spotlight, which is perfectly fine with the locals and in-the-know skiers and riders who tackle its uncrowded slopes. Hike the ridge to Highland Bowl for the sweetest run of your life, or simply cruise along the mid-mountain groomers off the Cloud Nine chairlift. Views over the valley to the snow-covered Maroon Bells constantly will remind you: this is Colorado at its best.A Local's Perspective
Dropping Into Highland Bowl
It takes 20 minutes of climbing, sometimes in blustery winds, to reach the first drop-in to Highland Bowl. But it is always worth it. Colorado's premier in-bounds terrain is not for the faint of heart, but it is certainly unlike anything else in the Rockies.
