Commitment To Veterans

Aspen Skiing Company appreciates the sacrifices of those who have served our country. Learn about special programs available to U.S. veterans.

Aspen Skiing Company was founded in 1946 thanks to the imagination and determination of veterans from the 10th Mountain Division, most notably Friedl Pfeifer, an Austrian who became an American citizen, enlisted in the 10th Mountain Division, received the Purple Heart, and — after World War II — partnered with Walter Paepcke to establish lift service and ski runs on Aspen Mountain.

Today, any veteran of the United States Armed Services can enjoy special benefits at our resort (see below).

Personally, I am in awe at the dedication and commitment that all veterans and active military personnel have shown to this country. From me and the entire staff at Aspen Skiing Company: Thank you! You are always welcome on our slopes.

Sincerely,

Mike Kaplan
President/Chief Executive Officer
Aspen Skiing Company
