Aspen Mountain and Snowmass both kick off the season on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025, welcoming back that unmatched excitement of first turns and fresh corduroy. Start your morning at the base with complimentary treats and warm drinks before heading up for a few thanksgiving day turns. Celebrate the return of winter with an après toast slopeside, then head into town for a Thanksgiving feast where someone else does the cooking and the dishes. Wintersköl 2025

Wintersköl is Aspen’s original toast to Ullr, celebrating winter with torchlight descents, bonfires, fireworks, and live music lighting up town and mountain December 12–14, 2025. It’s a chance to kick off the season with energy, tradition, and plenty of stoke across all four mountains. Premier Passholders can share $75 lift tickets with friends and family, or anyone can take advantage of $98 lift tickets with lodging—early-season turns never felt this good. Whether you’re raising a glass, carving first tracks, or just soaking in the vibes, Wintersköl sets the tone for a season of adventure you won’t forget.

The Little Nell Christmas Tree Lighting

Join us on December 7th for The Little Nell’s Annual Tree Lighting Celebration, a cherished community tradition that transforms the Wine Bar and Courtyard into a magical winter wonderland. Festivities take place from 5–7 pm, with the tree lighting ceremony at 5:30 pm. Enjoy complimentary freshly baked cookies, rich hot cocoa, and warm apple cider crafted by our pastry chefs while the Aspen High School choir fills the air with beloved carols. Audi Ajax Cup

Benefiting the Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club’s 3,000 athletes, the Audi Ajax Cup features a full day of head-to-head races on Little Nell Hill at Aspen Mountain followed by an exclusive après ski party at the St. Regis Aspen. The Audi Ajax Cup is the pinnacle event of the holiday season in Aspen and helps raise over one million dollars in financial aid to support local athletes in both recreational and competitive programs. Breathtaker Alpine Coaster at Elk Camp, Snowmass

For winter thrills off the slopes, look no further than the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster. Riders will wind their way through over a mile of forest on an elevated track at speeds of up to 28mph. Located adjacent to the Elk Camp Restaurant, riders and passengers will be able to experience the thrilling ride during the day and during special Ullr Nights. Daily hours 11am-3:30pm.

Fireworks in Aspen Snowmass

Whether you are partying at a nightclub or celebrating with family and friends, the buildup for New Years Eve at Aspen Snowmass is always the mountainside fireworks. Aspen will be launching them over the slopes at 8pm. Enjoy hot chocolate, DJ, s’mores, a bonfire from 1-3pm on Hyman and Cooper walking malls, and free skating from 3-6pm at the Aspen Ice Garden.
