Aspen Snowmass Freeskiing Open

February 21 - 26, 2020

The Aspen Snowmass Open is one of the last and longest running independent open competitions in the nation. It opens up the X Games Aspen Slopestyle and Superpipe and Big Air courses at Buttermilk to amateur and professional level athletes. Last year, the open drew around 200 competitors from six nations to test their skills.

About the Aspen Snowmass Freeskiing Open

The Aspen Snowmass Freeskiing Open is an AFP Gold Level event. The Association of Freeskiing Professionals is an organization responsible for implementing a balanced global rider ranking system and to serve as a unified voice for athletes and our sport. Made up of top athletes and key influencers within the sport of freeskiing, the AFP is proactive in the future direction of events, judging, growth and evolution of the sport as well as fostering opportunities for emerging riders to climb a clear ladder to higher levels of competition. The Aspen Snowmass Freesking Open is also a FIS NorAm Cup event. All competitors must be 14 years old as of December 31, 2019 in order to compete. In addition, U.S. competitors must have their USSA & FIS license and all foreign competitors their FIS license before the first day of registration. Due to processing times, we will not be able to issue licenses on-site. Visit USSA FIS website to purchase your freestyle/freeskiing FIS and USSA membership

Athlete Age Requirements

Athletes must be at least 14 years of age as of December 31, 2020 to compete per FIS rules. Any athlete under the age of 18 will need to bring a waiver signed by a guardian to registration. The waivers can be found on the registration site.

Refund Policy

Entry fees will be refunded ONLY to athletes with a valid medical reason under the following provisions: Entry fees will be refunded if requested 1 week prior to first day of event onsite registration. Participants must have a valid medical reason and documentation, each case will be reviewed. A 25% service charge will be deducted from all refunds. All refunds are at the sole discretion of Aspen Snowmass. Absolutely no refunds will be given after the above date regardless of reason and no refunds will be given due to event cancellation. Registrations are non-transferable.
