There are a lot of new developments at the Buttermilk Base Area. Learn more about these exciting improvements.
On December 17, the mountain will start spinning its lifts for skiers and riders and open its playground to uphill traffic through April 2, 2023. Buttermilk Mountain Lodge and The Backyard will be open for dining and après. The new guest services building is slated to open in mid-January.
How to Make the Most of Your Buttermilk Experience
Until the base area is complete, skier (guest) services will still be available at Buttermilk—including rentals, lift tickets, ski school, and retail—on a limited basis. Making arrangements in advance will ease your transition to the slopes while construction is ongoing.
Download the App
Purchase lift tickets, lessons, and rentals in advance online or through the Aspen Snowmass App. Also, stay up-to-date on parking and availability by checking the app.
Utilize Pickup Boxes
Use your Aspen Snowmass App to scan QR codes and print lift tickets and passes at Pickup Boxes. If you do need to visit a ticket office, employees and guests are encouraged to visit ticket offices and Pickup Boxes located at other Aspen Snowmass mountains.
Use Rental Transfer Service
Anyone looking to rent gear can stop into any of the eight other Four Mountain Sports locations and utilize our convenient equipment transfer service, which will deliver your skis and boards directly to Buttermilk.
Ride on Public Transit
While public transit, skier-drop off and pickup will be unaffected, parking at Buttermilk will be impacted until the new base area is fully complete. So, now more than ever, guests and employees will be encouraged to utilize the local bus system or plan ahead by parking at Brush Creek.
