The 2022-2023 winter season was packed with memorable moments. From zipper lines on Bell Mountain and hiking and sending Highland Bowl to steep and deep laps on Hanging Wall and growing our uphill community on Tiehack—we collectively skied and rode 155 days this season, with each sunrise offering a fresh opportunity to gain new perspective.

This winter, we hosted the 2023 Audi FIS Ski World Cup and accumulated more than 360 inches of deep, Rocky Mountain powder. Traditions like the 13th annual Audi Power of Four Ski Mountain Race, the 22nd X Games Aspen, and the 46th Aspen Gay Ski Week were carried on. And new ideas–like exploring why MLK Day Matters in the Ski Industry, opening a brand-new base area at Buttermilk, and preparing Pandora’s (which will add 153 more acres of skiable terrain on Aspen Mountain next season), were introduced.

At Aspen Snowmass, we believe passion can coexist with purpose and that the best experiences stay with you long after you’ve returned home. This winter was no different—thank you for dreaming big with us.

Who We Are

Big ideas have always been at our core

In 1946, Aspen installed the world’s longest chairlift with the collective efforts of the local community, veterans of the 10th Mountain Division, and Chicago industrialists Walter and Elizabeth Paepcke—who helped pave the way for a modern Aspen where mind, body, and spirit could be equally engaged. Since then, we’ve led the ski industry in environmental stewardship, hospitality, arts and culture, and of course, skiing and riding... but we’re not done yet.

Sustainability at the Forefront

Winters are getting shorter and climate change is the culprit—so we’re fighting it on every front. We’ve built a methane-to-electricity power plant, pressured politicians to change state and national energy policy, and try to bring the full force of our business and global brand influence to saving snow. Our sport’s future—and the planet’s—depends on it.

Art in Unexpected Places

World-renowned, multi-disciplinary artist Rashid Johnson's mosaics and collages will be exhibited across Aspen Snowmass throughout the 2022-2023 season as part of our Art in Unexpected Places program, continuing the tradition of bringing art to our mountains for the 18th consecutive year. Let Johnson’s work inspire you this winter.

Aspen Gay Ski Week

It’s a week, it’s a party, it’s advocacy, it’s tradition. From Bowl hikes, themed après gatherings, and champagne toasts to the beloved Drag Downhill costume contest, skiers and riders will show up to show off—and fundraise for AspenOUT—during America’s longest running Gay Ski Week, back for its 46th year from January 15-22, 2023.

Aspen Audi FIS Ski World Cup

Our ski racing roots run deep, and will be proudly on display this year as Aspen Mountain hosts the Aspen Audi Ski World Cup from March 3-5 2023. Athletes will compete in two Downhills and one Super-G on the legendary America’s Downhill™ track while audiences enjoy a week packed with live music and events, big ski action, and a rich sense of community.

An Uphilling Community Unlike Any Other

Early morning solo tours, sunset skins with friends, Friday uphill breakfasts, competitive events like the Audi Power of Four—the uphill scene across our four mountains is as vast and fast as it is soulful. Ski touring is one of the many ways we connect here—whether you’re into fitness, culture, or community, there’s a conversation ready for you to join.

X Games Aspen

Buttermilk will play center stage this winter for world-class athletes competing in Slopestyle, Big Air, Superpipe, and beyond during the 22nd consecutive X Games Aspen. A long-time proving ground for the progression of winter sports, the Games are free to all spectators and punctuated with concerts and nightly celebrations. Mark your calendars for January 27-29, 2023.
