Getting around the Aspen Snowmass area is simple and convenient. On this page, we offer comprehensive guidance on everything from our efficient bus system to renting a bike to how much a parking meter costs on a Tuesday afternoon.

But first, here are three quick tips to make getting around our valley as easy as the noon groom.
Walking to Aspen Mountain with skis

Tip #1.
RFTA is Your Best Friend

Our local system of public-transport buses is awesome. Timely, efficient and with many free routes, the RFTA buses have a high adoption from locals. Slide your skis in the racks on the side, hop aboard and get dropped off at the base - no need to worry about navigating snow-covered roads or finding a parking spot. New this year, the Flyer will shuttle skiers and riders from Brush Creek Lot directly to Aspen Highlands, so it has never been easier to get first tracks on a powder day!

Tip #2.
sign up for pitkin alerts

Want to avoid traffic and road closures on busy days? Get travel alerts first with Pitkin County Alerts SMS messages. The PitkinAlert notification system enables local officials to quickly provide you with information about emergencies and community news, such as severe weather, road closures, missing persons, and evacuations, so you'll never be in the dark.

Tip #3.
Check with Your Hotel

Aspen Snowmass is a hot-bed for hospitality, and many of the accommodations in the valley have their own private shuttle. Inquire at the front desk and you might find your best option for a ride to the slopes.
