Mountain Announcement

Updated December 5, 2025

Winter showed up in a big way this week. With 21 inches of new snow across our mountains, Snowmass is now spinning top to bottom and Aspen Mountain joins the party on Saturday. Winter is officially back, and we are stepping into the weekend with fresh coverage, expanded terrain and the most vertical feet of skiing in Colorado.

Terrain Updates

Aspen Mountain
Aspen Mountain will open for top to bottom skiing beginning Saturday, December 6. The Silver Queen Gondola and Ajax Express will serve continuous terrain from the summit to Gondola Plaza, offering 3,317 vertical feet of skiing. Additional terrain will open as conditions allow.

Snowmass
Snowmass is now open for top to bottom skiing with the Village Express spinning from Sam’s Knob to Snowmass Village, offering 2,230 vertical feet of continuous skiing. More terrain will be added as crews bring additional zones online.

With both mountains now offering top to bottom access, Aspen Snowmass currently has the most vertical feet of skiing in Colorado.

Lift Ticket Pricing

Early season pricing is available through December 5 with adult tickets at 119 dollars and non adult tickets at 81 dollars. Once top to bottom skiing is available on Aspen Mountain, we will transition back into the standard early season pricing window.

T2B Celebration at Aspen Mountain
Celebrate this early season milestone at the Sundeck on Saturday, December 6 from 12:30 to 3:30. Enjoy live music from Leche along with food and drink specials and plenty of opening weekend energy.

Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk remain scheduled to open Saturday, December 13.

Uphill Updates

Aspen Mountain
Uphill access remains closed as snowmaking and grooming crews continue to build safe, continuous routes. Please respect all closures and signage and check back for updated uphill information.

Snowmass
The Sam’s Knob uphill route remains closed until further notice, including Fanny Hill, Velvet Falls, Midway VX, Coney Glade Trail and Banzai Ridge. Snowmaking and grooming operations continue throughout these areas in preparation for expanded openings.

Aspen Highlands
The uphill route at Aspen Highlands is open for pre season access. Routes are unmaintained and all travel is at your own risk. Please be mindful of active mountain operations including snowmaking guns, hoses and snowmobiles as teams prepare the mountain for opening day. Wear your 2025 to 2026 uphill strap and sticker. Prior to opening day, there are no services available on mountain, including patrol. If anyone is injured or needs emergency assistance, call 911. Obey all on mountain signage. Closure signs at the base are the final call for access.

Check back for continued updates as we move deeper into the season.

Snowmass Master Development Plan Update

New This Year:

  • Elk Camp Six-Pack: This winter brings a new high-speed six-passenger lift, replacing the Elk Camp quad.
  • Cirque T-Bar: Replacing the existing platter lift, this high-altitude T-Bar doubles capacity and improves access to Snowmass’ premier expert terrain.

The Ullrhof at Snowmass is currently undergoing a complete rebuild, and will unfortunately be closed for the 2025-26 winter season. Instead, come visit our new pop up, The Hot Dogger at Spider Sabich, located under the Village Express lift on Snowmass.
