Established in 1997, the Environment Foundation is governed by an independent employee board and staffed by Aspen Skiing Company’s Sustainability department. Funding decisions are not made based on ASC policies and positions, but rather to benefit the larger community.

Since inception, the foundation has granted almost $2.9 million to 484 projects in or impacting the Roaring Fork Valley. More than 50% of our employees make an average contribution of $2.50 per paycheck. Contributions are matched by the Aspen Skiing Company Family Fund (up to $65,000) and the Aspen Community Foundation (up to $50,000). Administrative costs for operating the foundation are absorbed by the Aspen Skiing Company resulting in close to 100% of funds raised being granted to deserving organizations.
