The ongoing success of Aspen Skiing Company’s employee-run Environment Foundation has inspired a new opportunity to elevate our communities through giving.

Launched in the fall of 2016, the Caring for Community Fund is dedicated to serving the Roaring Fork Valley’s neediest individuals and families. Your donations will support child care centers, help neighbors struggling with mental health and addiction, provide medical services for those struggling with addiction, and ensure those without a roof over their head or dollar in their pocket have the support they need to get back on their feet. In short, the Caring for Community Fund helps Aspen Skiing Company employees take care of their co-workers and neighbors.

The Caring for Community Fund is funded by employees of Aspen Skiing Company and supported with matching donations from the company that triple your employee contributions. The fund is directed by an employee board, meeting periodically to review grant applications and award funds to the most deserving. Employees who might not ever get to give away money are deeply engaged in the process, learning about issues impacting their neighbor’s quality of life. They decide where to direct their co-workers donations. Long after an employee serves on the board many will continue to play active roles in the organizations and issues they learned about during their service.

As the fund's guidelines and operations are developed we will continue to release additional information. The board was established in March 2017. The fund's first grant deadline will be September 15, 2017 and decisions will be made in late-October. Email Matthew Hamilton for more information or to be added to our announcement list so you can keep abreast of the latest news about this fund.
