The world is facing a sudden and unprecedented crisis in the form of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. The virus has spread to nearly all corners of the globe, including here in the Roaring Fork Valley — forcing the closure of mountain operations on all four mountains, shutting hotels and restaurants, and disrupting life in nearly every way. But one thing this virus cannot disrupt is our desire to look after each other.

If you’re looking for an opportunity to donate to the Aspen Snowmass and Roaring Fork Valley community, Caring For Community Fund is collecting donations to support local nonprofits that need your help during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Any contributions made through September 18, 2020 will be matched by the Aspen Skiing Company Family Fund at Aspen Community Foundation, up to $250,000, and 100% of those funds will be distributed to organizations providing access to food, internet, safe housing, rent and financial assistance.

• The Caring for Community Fund is dedicated to serving communities from Aspen to Parachute through the funding of organizations which help facilitate a strong, healthy, supportive and productive community. Grants will focus on supporting basic human needs required to move forward productively such as healthcare, crisis support (food aid, emergency relocation services, legal assistance), safe and affordable housing, and educational and job training resources.

• You decide where your money goes — the Foundation is governed solely by Aspen Skiing Company employees.

• 100% of your donation is spent in the valley, not on overhead.

• Your contribution is tripled through a matching commitment from the company Aspen Skiing Company.
