Want to know what makes winter weddings so special? Check out this list of things to love about snowy soirées, curated by Juls Sharpley Events, the designer from this shoot!

We absolutely love winter weddings and wish they were more common, but also totally understand that if clients and their guests are big skiers/highly motivated, getting here in the winter can provide an extra challenge that some are just not willing to overcome!

But the things that we love are:

Fur inclusions in attire

Is there anything more cozy, more elegant, and more Aspen, than a bride (and perhaps all her bridesmaids), decked in fur?

Light

Winter lighting is sooo special and magical. The way it reflects off of the snow, the way the sun is positioned in the sky, the glow at sunset; it's just very different lighting than summer, which is gold for photography!

Velvet

While we incorporate velvet a lot in the summer months, it's just so perfect for winter weddings! Whether it's an embellishment to stationery, used as table linens, included in the attire for wedding party and guests, or added in as special details and touches throughout the day, we love seeing velvet at a wedding!

Skiing and Snowy Adventures

Group ski days (paired with Bonnie's brunches or Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro lunches), Pine Creek Cookhouse adventures (sleigh riding/crosscountry skiing), snowshoeing, and snowmobiling are just so special. Often, a wedding can take people on adventures they wouldn't ever otherwise experience!

Magically Romantic

There's just something extra special about being cozied up in Aspen in the wintertime with those you love the most!

Snow

How special is it to have snow as the backdrop of your wedding day, and featured all in your photos!?
