1.  Altitude Awareness

Help your guests know about the effects of high altitude and how to prepare! Staying hydrated, taking it easy on outdoor adventures, and not overdoing it at the open bar are three ways to help your body adjust to the altitude.

2.  Smart Shoe Style

Inform guests of any special shoe requirements based on where the ceremony and reception is located! Between chairlifts and short hikes to the venue, make sure your shoes are comfortable and up for the adventure!

3.  Afraid of Heights?

Inform your guests of any chairlift or gondola transportation in case they are afraid of heights. Giving them that heads up will allow them (and us) to help with assisted transportation needs!

4.  Weather-Ready!

When you’re planning the ceremony, keep in mind that weather moves quickly at high altitudes. Be ready with a back-up plan if weather moves in! Additionally, let your guests know that temperatures will drop significantly at night on the mountain, so be prepared with outerwear. We love it when couples give their guests a warm treat, like a s’mores station, cozy blankets, or warm beverages as they depart on the gondola.

5.  Choose Local

When it comes to your wedding day menu, always go local! Here at Aspen Snowmass, our chefs are always looking for ways to showcase the seasonal varieties grown and raised here, like our organic vegetables supplied by Colorado western Slope farmers.

6.  Keep It Natural

No need to overdo your décor… the mountain backdrop will wow your guests! With panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains at each of our venues, let your guests take in the natural beauty, as your love story gets written into the peaks and valleys.

7.  Secure Your Vendors

After you choose your Aspen Snowmass venue, book the other vendors as soon as possible to have the most options and open availability. Keep in mind that holiday weekends book up fast, so make sure you are locking in vendors, while they still have availability for your wedding day… that means sometimes over a year in advance!

8.  Check the Local Events Calendar

When choosing a date, be conscious of other events that may be happening in the towns of Aspen and Snowmass. The summer is filled with tons of happenings that book up hotels and venues quickly, so make sure you dream date is event-free!
