Adult Lessons

Whether you have never stepped foot on the slopes, are ready to graduate from greens to blues, or you love to shred double black diamonds, we have an adult group lesson or clinic tailored just for you. Skill development may include: skills for all-mountain skiing/riding, carving groomers, bump technique, exploring powder, progressing to steeps, racing, terrain park and pipe skills. All adult lessons and clinics have a maximum of five guests per group.

Meet our Pros, who want to work with you to create a fun, supportive, and inspiring small group learning environment. You'll learn the skills to take you beyond the green trails with other people like yourself, who are ready to fall in love with skiing. Maximum of five guests per group. Must be a green zone skier. (Blue zone and up skiers should enroll in our Max 5 Adult Group Clinics.)

Join us for an amazing mountain adventure with some of the most skilled guides and snow-sports Pros in the industry. Conquer the blues, explore off the groomed trails, or see what our most extreme terrain has to offer in our small group format. Looking to perfect your turns, pick up the speed, get into the bumps, master the moguls, challenge yourself in steeper terrain or in one of our Award-Winning terrain parks? Our team of professional coaches are looking forward to creating the experience of a lifetime with you. This is so much more than a lesson! Maximum of five guest per group. Max 5 First Time Group Ski or Snowboard Lessons

Our accelerated learning method, equipment, and terrain will help you succeed - and to make things easier - our top instructors will be teaching the lesson. Learn the basics of skiing and riding from Pros who practice a teaching method that promotes peak performance and confidence and educate you about the right equipment and mountain awareness. Available at Snowmass and Buttermilk every day. Available for first time adult skiers and riders only. Rate includes lesson, specialized beginner equipment, a helmet, and beginner-area lift ticket. Maximum of five guests per group.

Adult Race Clinic

Three-hour Adult (18+) Race Clinics are for advanced intermediate skiers and up who are interested in improving their skiing and racing abilities through focused race training. Clinics will consist of gate training and focused drills developing fundamentals, tactics and line choice, tailored to the individual and facilitated by experienced, highly qualified coaches.

Slalom training may include full slalom gates, stubby gates, brushes. Slalom skis, shin guards, and pole guards are recommended. Giant Slalom training may include full gates with panels. Giant slalom skis and protective gear recommended. Helmets and goggles are required for all participants.

Clinic times: 10am - 1pm. Please arrive at your meeting location 15 minutes prior to start time dressed, with equipment, and ready to go. Program starts January 2023.

Women's Edge Ski Clinic

Whether you are an intermediate skier or rider looking to build confidence in your abilities or are advanced and eager for the challenges of double-black-diamond terrain, Women’s Edge provides an opportunity to advance your skills and develop lasting relationships. Over 30 years in the running, this unique program designed especially for women is taught by women-specific, PSIA-certified instructors. Join us for an amazing, laughter-filled four days of skiing with friends and the best coaching staff in the world!

Must be a blue zone and up skier or snowboarder.

First Time Skier
Level 1: “I’ve never skied.”

Green Zone Skiers
Level 2: “I can slide, slightly change direction, and come to a stop.” – Easiest green terrain
Level 3: “I can link turns together and stop where I want to on the easiest green terrain. My turns are usually all the same size.” – Green terrain
Level 4: “I am linking turns together smoothly on all green terrain. I can make narrow and wide turns” – All green and easiest blue terrain

Blue Zone Skiers
Level 5: “I am skiing mostly parallel in a couple different turn sizes and shapes on most blue terrain. I am beginning to use my poles and can hockey stop in both directions.” - All green terrain and most blue terrain
Level 6: “I am skiing parallel and confidently on all groomed blue terrain. I am exploring un-groomed trails and the easiest bumps. I usually make the same turn sizes and shapes on un-groomed trails.” – All groomed blues, easy blue bumps, easy groomed blacks
Level 7: “I am able to make parallel turns with a pole plant on all blue and black terrain. I am exploring un-groomed black terrain, including bumps. I can change my turn sizes and shapes for the different challenges.” – All blue terrain and most black terrain

Black Zone Skiers
Level 8: “I am making different turns sizes and shapes, including rhythmic short turns and large carved turns, on all blue and black terrain (groomed or un-groomed). I feel comfortable exploring harder blacks and easier double black terrain.” – All black and easy double blacks terrain
Level 9: “I can ski the entire mountain and am working on skiing faster, smoother, difficult lines, and learning different strategies in the hardest terrain and snow conditions.” – Entire mountain

Level 1: “I’ve never snowboarded.”

Green Zone Snowboarders
Level 2: “I have experienced sliding, traversing both directions, and stopping.” – Easiest green terrain
Level 3: “I can control my speed. while moving across the hill, and can stop with confidence. I am starting to turn in both directions.” – Green terrain
Level 4: “I can link skidded turns on green terrain.” – All green and easiest blue

Blue Zone Snowboarder
Level 5: “I am confident and can connect different turn sizes and shapes on all green terrain. I make more or less the same size and shape turn on easy blue terrain.” - All green terrain and most blue terrain
Level 6: “I am riding most blue terrain by connecting various turn sizes and shapes. I am also exploring switch riding, easy bumps, and/or freestyle.” – All blue terrain
Level 7: “I am able to ride all blue terrain in varied conditions and working on easy black terrain, including bumps, trees, and terrain parks.” – All blue terrain and groomed black terrain

Black Zone Snowboarder
Level 8: “I am confident performing dynamic turns on varied terrain and snow conditions, including trees, steeps and powder.” – All black and easy double blacks terrain
Level 9: “I am confident riding the entire mountain. I am working on a variety of tactics and techniques that will take me to the next level.” – Entire mountain, all conditions

Policies

Change/Cancellation Policy
Ski & Snowboard School products changed or cancelled 48 hours or more in advance are fully refundable. To request a refund, please call us at (877) 365-7209 and have your order confirmation number available.

Waivers
All participants in Ski and Snowboard School group lessons and private experiences who are ages 17 and under must have a completed waiver and a Medical Emergency Contact Card in their pocket while skiing or riding with a Pro.
