Explore the cosmos from 11,212 feet at the Sundeck at this all-ages event that's sure to be out of this world.

You're invited to the top of Aspen Mountain for the 10th annual Stars Above Aspen Astronomy Night in partnership with Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES).
Scheduled events include a sunset yoga class for all ages from 6:30pm-7:30pm, Fiske Planetarium Minidome, collaborative universe mural, guided telescope stations, cosmic crafts, legends and facts of the constellations, and more. The Sundeck stays open for drinks and dinner.
Mountain temps drop after dark—bring layers and a blanket for stargazing. The event is open to all ages. Tickets include the gondola ride. Kids ten and under are free. Season passes are not accepted for this event. Last ride up the gondola is at 9pm; last ride down is at 10pm.
Please note, dogs will not be allowed at Stars Above Aspen.
Cancellation Policy: Tickets are refundable if cancelled at least 48 hours in advance. No refunds will be granted due to weather if operations remain open.
Know Before You Go
Mountain temperatures cool quickly after sunset, so be sure to bring warm layers and a blanket for stargazing. A headlamp, ideally with a red light setting, is recommended to help you navigate pathways after dark. The last ride up the gondola is at 9:00 PM, and the last ride down is at 10:00 PM.
From 6:00–8:30 PM, enjoy an evening of family-friendly activities, including a sunset yoga class from 6:30–7:30 PM, cosmic crafts, solar telescope viewing, the Fiske Planetarium Mini Dome, and the opportunity to get your biggest questions answered by the Aspen Center for Physics.
As the skies grow darker from 8:30–10:00 PM, explore guided telescope stations and settle in for picnic blanket stargazing beneath one of Colorado's most spectacular night skies.
