When paired with the natural beauty of the great outdoors—and the astonishing feats of world-class athletes—adventure and action photography is some of the best art.
This winter, from December 4 through January 2, award-winning photographs from the 2021 RedBull Illume Image Quest will be showcased on Fanny Hill at Snowmass. The world’s greatest adventure and action sports imagery contest showcases the most creative and captivating images of the year while also illuminating the lifestyle, culture and passion of the photographers behind the lenses. Fifty-three renowned photo editors and experts review a total of 41,447 submissions, narrowing down the selection in five voting rounds to reach 256 semifinalists, 56 finalists, 11 category winners, and ultimately, the first-place winner of Red Bull Illume Image Quest 2021.
Aspen Snowmass’s position at the intersection of nature, culture, and recreation makes it the perfect venue for elevating and showcasing these works via an on-mountain installation, where both local and global guests can enjoy them. This will be the second time Aspen Snowmass has hosted the event since its inception in 2007.
On Saturday, December 4, hear the category and first place winners announced and meet the photographers on Fanny Hill—or plan a visit to see the winning photographs any evening from sunset to 9pm before the showcase wraps on January 2.
