Olympic Send Off Celebration

Aspen Snowmass has produced world-class athletes for as long as people have been descending from the Valley’s snow-covered peaks—and this season is no different.

Join in the community celebration on Wednesday, January 26 at 4pm in Gondola Plaza where we will proudly send off three Roaring Fork Valley-raised athletes who have been named to the 2022 US Olympic Team—halfpipe skiers Hanna Faulhaber and Alex Ferreira, and Nordic racer Hailey Swirbul.

Hosted by longtime Aspen athlete ambassador Chris Davenport, the celebration will include brief remarks from Aspen Skiing Company’s Mike Kaplan, Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club’s Freestyle Program Director Eric Knight, and Aspen Mayor Torre. Come enjoy some free hot cocoa—and the presence of Olympic veterans that span generations—at this time-honored event centered around community pride, and prepare to cheer our local heroes on as they take the world’s stage at the Beijing Winter Olympic Games February 4 through February 20.
