In partnership with the Aspen Winter Words series, you’re invited to sit down and lean into a conversation with The New York Times bestselling author, Imbolo Mbue. Mbue, a Cameroonian-American novelist and award-winning writer, will be discussing her second novel, “How Beautiful We Were,” about a fictional African village’s fight against an American oil company, named by The New York Times as “One of the 10 Best Books” of 2021.

Imbolo Mbue is a native of Limbe, Cameroon, and a graduate of Rutgers and Columbia Universities. Mbue lives in New York. Her first novel “Behold The Dreamers” won the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction and was an Oprah’s Book Club selection. Her works have been translated into eighteen languages and published in dozens of countries.
