Lake Christine Fire Update (July 16, 2018)

The Lake Christine Fire is burning near Basalt, Colorado, approximately 20 miles from Aspen Snowmass. The fire is currently 59% contained. All mountain operations and facilities, including The Limelight and The Little Nell hotels, are open for business as usual and there is no immediate threat. Cooler temperatures and slightly higher humidity has helped with fire containment. You can go to our webcams to see current conditions by clicking here.

The Aspen/Pitkin County Airport is open and the Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) has been reduced in size, effective immediately. Regularly scheduled commercial flights have resumed, unless the wildfire takes an unexpected turn. For flight information, please contact your air carrier.

From first responders to precision pilots, volunteer firefighters to support crews and law enforcement from near and far, the heroic efforts demonstrated by these brave men and women saved countless homes and kept essential valley-wide services uninterrupted.
