Aspen Snowmass is excited to unveil its newest attraction, the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster. Riders will wind their way through over a mile of forest on an elevated track at speeds of up to 28mph. Located adjacent to the Elk Camp Restaurant, riders and passengers will able to experience the thrilling ride during the day and also at night during Ullr Nights festivities and on special holidays.

The Breathtaker Alpine Coaster at Snowmass opens in late-December and will be open every day through early April in conjunction with winter lift operations, as well as during Ullr Nights.

  • Activities Pass: $49 per person, all ages. Includes a 2 hour session with access to tubing and the alpine coaster during that time. Waiver required to be signed by participant/parent/guardian.

Daily Sessions

From December 23, 2017 to April 8, 2018, the Activities Pass will be offered with the following sessions:

Extended Hours

Beginning February 17, 2018, the final session will run until 3:30pm. Sessions will be offered at the following times:
11am – 1pm

1pm – 3:30pm


On Friday nights from December 22, 2017 to April 6, 2018, activities (tubing and alpine coaster) will be offered during Ullr Nights with the following sessions:

Activity Description

o Ride will take between 7 and 9 minutes to complete
o Riders will travel through over a mile of forest on an elevated track at up to speeds of 28 mph/45 kph
o Track features curves, turns and hairpin turns
o Riders are solely responsible for both monitoring their speed of their sled and to control their braking in order to maintain safe distances between sleds

Health Requirements

Guests who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol of any kind may not participate in this activity

Guests with the following medical conditions may not participate in this activity:
o Pregnant or think they may be pregnant
o Heart condition
o Seizure condition
o History of back or neck injury
o Any other medical condition that prevents guest from following the safety rules and guidelines

Essential Eligibility Requirements

Driver requirements:
o Between 54 inches and 84 inches tall (137/213 centimeters)
o Must be physically able to maintain seated position and use safety restraints
o Capable of understanding and obeying all verbal and written instructions
o Capable of visually identifying sled in front of them to maintain safe following distance
o Able to operate brake levers to control the speed of the sled
o Driver must be 16 years or older to pilot sled with passenger

Passenger requirements:
o At least 38 inches/97 centimeters tall
o Must be shorter than the driver
o Between 45 and 187 lbs (20/85 kg)
o Capable of holding onto front handle while sled is in motion
oTotal passenger (max of 2) weight for sled cannot exceed 375 lbs/170 kg in dry conditions, 330 lbs/150 kg in wet conditions


o Must sign a release of liability waiver
o All loose clothing and hair below shoulder length shall be secured prior to starting the ride
o No food or gum is allowed on the ride
o Participants must remain seated at all times and keep their arms and legs inside the sled for the duration of the ride
o Driver must maintain at least 80 feet /24 meters in dry conditions/160 feet/48 meters in wet conditions between their sled and sled in front of them on the track
o Stopping on the track is only permitted in the event of an emergency
o No backpacks or bags allowed on the ride
