Our Mountain Explorers camp isn't like regular Ski & Snowboard School lessons. This 5-day camp is designed to develop well-rounded skiers and snowboarders who have a true love for the sport, the mountains, and Aspen Snowmass. Children will explore all four of our mountains while being introduced to, or continuing to expand on, every aspect of skiing or riding including steeps and bumps, park and pipe, and racing. Coaches promote skill development, team building, and mountain safety in a non-competitive environment.

Whether kids want to spin a 360, hike Highland Bowl, go fast in a race course, or just have a really fun week exploring new terrain, our coaches have them covered. Camp is great for young rippers seeking new challenges and new friends. It’s the perfect environment for intermediate and advanced kids to explore new aspects of the sport safely while experiencing new mountains.

Kids Mountain Explorers is UNIQUE. The Aspen Way is at the center of the program. We love our community, our pristine mountain environment, and our way of life. And we especially love sharing all of those with young rippers. Camp is about more than just turning left and right. Our coaches make it an adventure. Falling in love with the sport and the mountain environment, and pushing personal limits are all key aspects of the camp.

Our coaches do more than teach skills, they’re in the business of child development. They are inspirational role models who empower kids to discover their potential and become the best versions of themselves; creating resilient kids and a stronger community of passionate skiers and riders.

Meeting Location: On the first day, meet in Snowmass Base Village Plaza. Groups may choose to travel to other mountains for remaining days in program. Meeting locations for remaining days will be determined in advance with the group and coach.

• Helmets – Helmets are required for children ages 17 and under participating in all Ski & Snowboard Schools programs. Helmets are also required for all participants, regardless of age, when participating in Terrain Park & Pipe lessons. While helmets may reduce the severity of a head injury, the best way to avoid accidents is to know and abide by the skier/rider responsibility code.

• Rentals– If renting equipment please allow a minimum of one hour to get fitted on your first day, or if your schedule allows, pickup your rentals the evening before your first day on the slopes. Four Mountain Sports rental shops are located at nine locations throughout the bases of our four mountains and include the Treehouse Kids’ Adventure Center at Snowmass as well as the Panda house at Buttermilk.
