Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Why are you limiting Group Lesson and Clinic size to 5 people?
Answer: Not only is this an effort to promote the safety of our guests, but the change also creates an improved guest experience for those in our lessons and clinics. Fewer people means more personalization, customization, and individual feedback.

Question: Half day morning Max 5 lessons and clinics are offered December 18, 2020 - January 15, 2021. Will you offer afternoon half day lessons and clinics?
Answer: All Max 5 lessons and clinics are offered in the morning only. If you would like to take a lesson in the afternoon, we welcome you to join our half day afternoon Private Lessons.

Question: What was the reason for switching from full day to half day Max 5 lessons and clinics from December 18, 2020 - January 15, 2021?
Answer:
The Ski and Snowboard Schools are committed to keeping our guests, Pros, and our community safe, healthy, and open for business. In an effort to do so, we have made the decision to replace full day Max 5 Group Lessons and Clinics with morning half day Max 5 group lessons and clinics. Due to a rise in COVID-19 cases, our county is currently under severe restrictions for indoor dining. The half day morning environment requires fewer indoor breaks, less time to warm up, and does not include sitting down for lunch. The change to half day lessons allows us to provide an exceptional guest experience while minimizing the exposure risk to our guests and Pros. We will continue to offer full day and half day (both morning and afternoon) Private Lessons and Guided Experiences during this time.

Question: When will you offer full day Max 5 lessons and clinics?
Answer: The health and safety of our guests and Pros is paramount in all of our decisions. If restrictions, guidelines, and case numbers allow, we will begin full day Max 5 lessons and clinics on January 16, 2021.

Question: Do child lessons still include lunch?
Answer: Lunch is included for full day children’s Ski & Snowboard School lessons through age 12. Lunch will be supervised by our Pros and all safety measures will be followed during this time. We will not be offering lunch for half day lessons however snacks will be provided for all groups.

Question: Group Lesson and Clinic costs increased over last season. Why is there an increase?
Answer: This improved guest experience creates smaller, guaranteed group sizes. This provides guests more time on the mountain with added individualized attention from the most qualified Pros in the world. Advance reservations for these products ensure that groups are well aligned, and can be pre-formed, saving time on arrival and allowing for more skiing/riding.

Question: Are Private Lessons and Guided Experiences limited to 5 people?
Answer: Yes, Private Lessons and Guided Experiences have been, and will continue to be, for 1 to 5 people of your choosing. This provides the best experience for our guests.

Question: How can I complete waivers and registration forms ahead of time?
Answer: Guests can visit the new Aspen Snowmass account portal or the newly updated Aspen Snowmass App to complete Ski & Snowboard School waivers and registration forms ahead of time.

Question: How will reservations work for Ski & Snowboard School this winter?
Answer: Reservations are required for all Ski & Snowboard School products this year, including Clinics, Group Lessons, Private Lessons, and Guided Experiences. If we have to limit overall capacity, previously purchased Ski & Snowboard School products will be considered a reservation and will be prioritized, subject to inventory needing to be set below the levels of previously sold products. Aspen Snowmass has developed a pass and lift ticket plan that we believe will allow us to operate all season without additional restrictions. However, in the event that we need to address skier volume, those who have already booked lessons and secured their lift tickets will be given priority access. Lessons can be booked online at aspensnowmass.com or by calling one of our agents at 877-308-7859.

Question: When I book a Private Lesson or Guided Experience, what can I expect in terms of added perks?
Answer: Guests who book a Private Lesson or Guided Experience can set the meeting time and location as well as curate their experience and agenda for the day with the insight and knowledge from their Pro. Lessons also give priority line access when loading our chairlifts and gondolas.

Question: Will Pros be checked daily for safety reasons?
Answer: Yes, all Pros will submit a daily health assessment prior to working.

Question: Will Ski & Snowboard School guests be required to have health checks prior to their lesson?
Answer: Yes, we are still working through the details of how we will manage this, but that is our intent.

Question: Is childcare available this year?
Answer: This year childcare (ages 8 weeks - 4 years) at the Treehouse Kids’ Adventure Center will only be available for local residents and employees living in the valley. A seasonal agreement is required.

Question: Will various groups of lessons intermingle during the day?
Answer: Lesson and Clinic guests will remain with their Pro and “cohorts” only and will not intermingle with other groups.

Question: Do I need to wear a facial covering during my lesson?
Answer: Yes when indoors, in lift lines, while riding lifts, and when you are not distanced by six feet.

Question: Are you still providing equipment storage and transfer with Private Lessons and Guided Experiences this year?
Answer: Yes, Private Lesson and Guided Experience guests will still be able to store and transfer their skis, snowboards, and poles to the mountain of their choice for free.

Question: Will the Snowmass Treehouse Kids’ Adventure Center and the Hideout at Buttermilk still be open for children’s group lessons?
Answer: Yes, these facilities will still serve as a homebase for ages 2.5 to 4 year old group lessons for all guests. All safety protocols will be followed.
