What to Expect

Give your child the opportunity to learn skiing or snowboarding, or maybe master a new skill. Our Pros make full use of our legendary terrain to build the confidence of young skiers and emphasize safety. Bringing passion and expert guidance to each lesson, our highly-trained Pros give children the confidence to try new things while emphasizing the Skier Responsibility Code.

Groups are divided according to skill level and goals. Your child will be given the chance to make new friends in an environment that fosters learning and encourages personal growth. Over the course of a lesson, your child might learn:

  • The fundamentals of skiing and snowboarding
  • Techniques for mastering groomers or navigating race courses
  • Gaining an introduction to terrain parks and pipes.

Children often choose to compete with new friends at specials events such as Race Day or the Lowdown Showdown Park Challenge, and play in fun environments such as Lizard Lodge, Toad Town, Fort Frog and Tree Trails.

Policies & Special Considerations

  • Helmets – Helmets are required for children ages 17 and under participating in all Ski & Snowboard Schools programs. Helmets are also required for all participants, regardless of age, when participating in Terrain Park & Pipe lessons. While helmets may reduce the severity of a head injury, the best way to avoid accidents is to know and abide by the skier/rider responsibility code.
  • Our Guarantee: When you consider that every lesson is backed by Our Guarantee, it becomes a risk-free investment – if you are unsatisfied with your lesson, we’ll enroll you in another lesson at no extra cost to you. Put simply, you have everything to gain and nothing to lose.
  • Group Lessons are fully refundable if not used.
  • Rentals– If renting equipment please allow a minimum of one hour to get fitted on your first day, or if your schedule allows, pickup your rentals the evening before your first day on the slopes. Four Mountain Sports rental shops are located at nine locations throughout the bases of our four mountains and include the Treehouse Kids’ Adventure Center at Snowmass as well as the Panda house at Buttermilk.
