Aspen Snowmass does the holidays right, with a stacked calendar of events, special activities for the whole family, and so many things to do you'll forget all about gifts (well, maybe!). From snuggling up and enjoying the first Ullr Nights of the season at Snowmass to the legendary New Year's Eve parties across Aspen, the entire area will be putting on a two-week celebration through January 3.
We've curated our favorite on-mountain and off-mountain ways to celebrate the season during your holiday getaway.
Ullr Nights | ELK CAMP AT SNOWMASS
December 27 and 30, 2019 | January 1 and 3, 2020During Ullr Nights, Elk Camp at Snowmass is transformed into a nighttime winter wonderland for the whole family. And for the holidays, we are adding bonus nights: December 30 and January 1!
Take an evening gondola ride up to Elk Camp for family fun including tubing, the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster, snowbiking, snowshoe tours, live music, an ice bar, a bonfire, s'mores and delicious food.
Light Up the Night
December 6, 2019, 5:30pm–7:30pmSnowmass' annual tree-lighting ceremony commemorates the season with 40 Christmas trees illuminating at once, spirited caroling, as well as a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Come for the spectacle, stay for the hot chocolate and cookies.
Santa's Village & Carolers / Menorah Celebration
December 21–24, December 22–30, 2019 (respectively)Visit with Santa Claus in the days leading up to Christmas at this replica Santa's Village in the Collective Lounge at Snowmass Base Village. Complimentary photos with the Jolly Old Elf, Christmas caroling and other holiday fun are in store. The Collective will also be hosting a Menorah lighting to celebrate Hanukkah December 22–30.

Party Like It's 1989
December 14, 2019 – Chair 9, The Little NellIt was the year that plum and gold colors on your parka were in, the year Janet Jackson released Rhythm Nation, the year Batman dominated the box office (OK, so some things don't change). It was also the year that The Little Nell opened, and this year, to celebrate its 30th anniversary, they're throwing a retro party to end all retro parties. Don your best '80s ski duds and head to Chair 9 for themed cocktails, a DJ plus '80s tribute band, and the not-so-usual Aspen après-ski fun.
Saturday, December 21, 2019; 3–5pmWarm up and celebrate holiday cheer with hot chocolate and cookies as we light the Menorah to welcome the first night of Hanukkah—fun for the whole family! Part of the 12 Days of Aspen citywide celebration.

The Little Nell Christmas Eve & Christmas Dinners at Element 47
Tuesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 25, 2019; 6pm–10pmGive your loved ones the gift of an exquisite Christmas dinner at Element 47. A four-course prix fixe menu offers holiday favorites with a gourmet twist perfect for Christmas. Pricing is $150+ per guest, available with a $50 wine pairing option. Pricing for children is $50+ per child.
AVSC’s Audi AJAX Cup | Little Nell Race Course & Shlomo’s Party Tent
December 30, 2019; 9am–6pmThe Audi Ajax Cup is a dual Giant Slalom right on the Little Nell run down Aspen Mountain, ending in Aspen’s Gondola Plaza. Teams of six are racing head-to-head until one is named the winner and awarded the famed Gorsuch Cup. Each team has a pro-racer, which in previous years has included Chris Davenport, Casey Puckett, Daron Rahlves and AJ Kitt.
Race is free to watch as a spectator sport, and the party has an entry fee.
Skiing and Riding | All Four Mountains
DailyAspen Mountain and Snowmass opened early this year, and Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk are scheduled to open on December 7. New this year is Passopalooza: from December 13-15, bring any valid 2019-2020 ski pass from any resort in the world, and we'll offer a $59/day lift ticket good for all four of our mountains. Check the snow and grooming reports for frequent updates on conditions, grooming, and lift status.
Snowcat Dinners at Lynn Britt Cabin and Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro
Lynn Britt Cabin: Tues. and Thurs. evenings during the season (including Christmas Eve and New Years Eve)Few activities can match the romantic atmosphere of our snowcat dinners at Lynn Britt Cabin and Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro. Take a ride up the mountain after the lifts have closed and enjoy an elegant dinner at these two mainstays of Snowmass and Aspen Highlands.

Buttermilk Cliffhouse Full Moon Uphill Dinners
December 11, 2019 | January 10, 2020A favorite of both locals and visitors alike, skin or hike up Tiehack on Buttermilk under the light of a full moon to dinner at Cliffhouse! Get there early to enjoy free hot chocolate from 5-6pm around the Cowboy Cauldron over a roaring fire. À la carte dinner options, snacks and a cash bar will be offered inside Cliffhouse. Cliffhouse will be open 5-8pm on these nights.
Breathtaker Alpine Coaster | Elk Camp at Snowmass
Daily from November 28, 2019 through April 19, 2020Our newest activity on Snowmass will take your breath away. Literally. The new Breathtaker Alpine Coaster opened in 2017 and takes guests on a 28mph journey through the forest near Elk Camp. Special night rides are available on December 27 and 30 as well as January 1 (during Ullr Nights).

Daily beginning December 20, 2019 through April 5, 2020Double-up on the fun by using your Activity Pass for both the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster and a few runs on our tubing lanes at Elk Camp. Few things could feel more jolly than dashing through the snow on a one-person open tube.
SNOWBIKING | ELK CAMP SNOWMASS
Throughout winterExperience the rush of sliding down the slopes in a whole new way with a snowbike lesson at Snowmass. Learn to ride a snow bike with help from an instructor, and take some laughter-filled laps under the Elk Camp Gondola. This growing sport is great for people of all ages. Come learn with us.

December 31, 2019 at 8pm and midnight3, 2, 1 ... Happy New Year. Enjoy the spectacular display throughout downtown, with the best viewing spots near the Silver Queen Gondola and Lift 1A.
Torchlight Parade & Fireworks | Snowmass
December 31, 2019; 6pm (Torchlight Parade), 10pm (Fireworks)Join the spectacle at Snowmass by skiing and riding in the torchlight parade on Fanny Hill. Loading for the parade will begin at 5:30pm and you can sign up in advance (or the day-of) at the Snowmass Ticket Pavilions. Skiers and snowboarders ages 8 and up are invited to ski in the parade. Fireworks follow at 10pm.
NEW YEAR'S EVE DINNER | ELEMENT 47

December 31, 2019; 7pm and 11pmFor an elevated experience on New Year’s Eve, Clicquot Cats offer the unique opportunity to view the fireworks display from the top of Little Nell ski run on Aspen Mountain. The Little Nell, Veuve Clicquot and Aspen Skiing Company have created a VIP fireworks experience, combining the finest in service and champagne and the ultimate in access and adventure. Three snow cats are available for buy-out (up to 12 guests) for the 8pm or midnight fireworks shows over Aspen Mountain. Enjoy the unique experience of riding in a snow cat to a private setting on the slopes overlooking the glittering city of Aspen. Here you’ll be greeted with front row seating for an unrivaled view of the fireworks show over Aspen Mountain, plush blankets and a dedicated server pouring Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame. The New Year’s Dom Perignon Party | The Little Nell
December 31, 2019 – January 1, 2019; 10pm–1:30amRing in the new decade in stlye at The Dom Pérignon Party, Aspen’s “it party” of the holiday season. This signature celebration takes place throughout The Little Nell with unique musical acts in three of the hotel’s premier venues. Access includes bottomless Dom Pérignon, a top-shelf open bar and decadent food stations replenished throughout the night. Enjoy the All That Jazz Sextet in the Hennessy Lounge, dance to DJ Cyn in the Belvedere Lounge, party the night away in the Dom Pérignon Lounge downstairs at The Nell with dueling DJs Niiko x Swae, or just chillout by the Ice Bar with a shot of Hennessy Cognac (paired with freshly-made donuts, because why not? It's 2020!). Dancers will light up the courtyard during the countdown with a fire show, all of it culminating with the fireworks display. Tickets required.
