Summer fun for many begins with a pool--with children laughing and playing in it and adults lounging around it soaking up the sun or reading in the shade. First of all, Snowmass is known for its great pools. Guests at the Villas at the Snowmass Club have access to the club’s four pools—a lap pool, family pool, adult pool and children’s wading pool. Not to mention, two outdoor hot tubs and two indoor hot tubs.
If you prefer a full-service hotel in Snowmass, the Westin Snowmass Resort and the Viceroy Snowmass offer slope-side pool experiences with poolside services so you can enjoy cocktails without leaving the view. The Viceroy’s all-season heated saline pool and terrace cabanas are particularly inviting.
For Snowmass condominium lodging, it’s hard to beat the slope-side pools at the Timberline Condominiums and the Shadowbrook Condominiums. Two outdoor spas and a fire-piton the upper deck complement the new heated pool at the Timberline. Beautiful landscaping surrounds the Shadowbrook pool and spas. Guests at the Stonebridge Inn and the Stonebridge Condominiums also score world class mountain views from a lovely patio with a heated pool, two hot tub spas, a fire-pit and gas grills.
Two popular Aspen hotel pool and poolside experiences are noticeably unavailable this summer: TheHotel Jerome, while its lounge and restaurants are open, the pool and patio is closed for renovation. The pool at the Sky Hotel at the base of Aspen Mountain has been the place to be, but the entire Sky Hotel is now closed and property is slated for redevelopment.
For a luxury pool experience in Aspen complete with poolside service and heated towels, The Little Nell, St. Regis Aspen Resort and the Ritz-Carlton Club, Aspen Highlands top the list. Take in views of Aspen Mountain and the Silver Queen Gondola while you dangle your toes in the Little Nell pool. The St. Regis pool and two spa pools are tucked away for privacy. Views of the Lift 1A side of Aspen Mountain peek through the surrounding towering evergreen trees. During happy hour, white terry robe-clad guests surround the Ritz-Carlton Club’s pool and hot tub spa after a day of hiking or visiting the Maroon Bells.
The recently remodeled courtyard with pool and hot tubs at the Aspen Square Condominium Hotel is a long-time summer favorite with colorful flowers, red umbrellas and rock work. The soothing sounds of the water feature next to the pool would put anyone in total relaxation mode.
