Having fun on Snowmass Ski Area isn’t limited to the winter. Enter: the Lost Forest. The adventure center, opening June 22, built mid-mountain near Elk Camp is a whole new world offering excitement for all ages. From calm pondside fishing to more challenging obstacle courses, the Lost Forest is a place you’ll want to find.
Breathtaker Alpine Coaster
The speedy alpine coaster drops more than 400 feet in a vertical mile through a wooded forest. Riders control their own speed with handbrakes—going as fast as 28 mph—and though the course is full of twists and turns, the ride is comfortable and smooth. Pro tip: Hoot and holler on the way down to tease people who can hear you while being tugged uphill for their first ride.
Canopy Run Zip Line
What better way to see the Elk Mountain forest than from the top of it? Eight ziplines and three sky bridges connect tree-top platforms—the only of its kind in Colorado—for a 3-hour tour above the ground, reaching heights of 90 feet. The experience is guided and participants tour the entire course, rather than pieces of it. Pro tip: The course is progressive so it starts out easy and then ends with a 1,300-foot double-zipline so you can enjoy the forest ceiling with a friend.

Rugged Ascent Climbing WallOpening in mid-July, the large wall, 14-lane climbing wall features autobelays with set routes from easy to challenging. With varying levels, it’s fun for kids or experienced climbers.
Trout Hook FishingAspiring fisherpeople can practice their casting in a miniature pond stocked with trout. The stream-fed pond is catch-and-release only.

Aerial Approach Disc GolfThis is disc golf supersized. The 18-hole course winds its way from Elk Camp to Base Village giving participants varied terrain and a challenging walk in the woods.
Timber Territory PaintballFor some competitive fun, paintballers are given 300 washable and biodegradable paintballs to take on each other—and the natural design elements.
