TYLER
Events Marketing Manager
Years at Aspen Snowmass: 6

“When the Pitkin Solar Farm was first proposed for a former sewage waste disposal site adjacent to my house, I was enthusiastic. I saw a vision of the future - towing my daughter up and down the Rio Grande Trail on my electric bike, and telling her that the clean local electrons carrying us into town were produced right here, carbon free, beside the bike path. I was surprised to see strong opposition to the project among a number of my neighbors in Woody Creek, so I decided to get involved. First, with a couple of letters to the editor, then later with a coordinated social media campaign, and finally by speaking out at the Pitkin BOCC hearings where the approval was ultimately issued. It felt good to have a positive impact on our energy resilience and carbon footprint right here at home, and it inspired me to take political engagement on climate issues more seriously going forward.”
