NEW 2007-2008 SEASON....
- The NEW Treehouse Kids’ Adventure Center – our largest capital project to date – is basecamp for all things family! As the centerpiece for kids programming at Aspen/Snowmass, The Treehouse stands as the first of its kind in the snowsports industry, boasting a family-friendly alpine climber, teen activities, kids' retail and a host of themed rooms for kids ages eight-weeks and up. The unique design of The Treehouse shares the wonder of the mountain environment in tactile, fun and educational ways for every family to enjoy.
The Treehouse is easily accessible from anywhere in Snowmass with underground parking, free shuttle buses, ski-in/ski-out access on Fanny Hill and service to the upper slopes, lodges and Snowmass Village Mall via the Sky Cab gondola. In addition, Aspen/Snowmass Ski & Snowboard Schools check-in, rental, retail and family après entertainment will be consolidated all under one roof.
- The NEW Elk Camp Meadows learning area - Located at an elevation of nearly 10,000 feet on Snowmass, this is a one-of-a-kind experience for beginners. Offering dedicated terrain exclusively for first time skiers and snowboarders of all ages, the new Elk Camp Meadows learning area includes a new quad chair called the Meadows Lift, two new surface lifts - both covered Magic Carpet lifts - and a new ski school lounge. All are accessed by the Elk Camp Gondola, which goes from the new Snowmass base village to the Elk Camp Meadows learning area.
Elk Camp Meadows is completely separated from other ski runs, with no cross traffic from other trails and no access available to more advanced skiers or riders. The elevation ensures the best snow and coverage, particularly during the early and late season, as well as stunning views that most beginners do not get to experience at other resorts until they are more advanced.
Other on-mountain upgrades for 2007-2008 include a new and improved Snow Park Technologies terrain park and halfpipe area, while future projects such as the new Elk Camp Meadows activity center and the new restaurant at Sam’s Knob are just a season away.
NEW 2006-2007 SEASON…
Elk Camp Gondola
The Funnel chairlift has been replaced with a new 8-passenger, high-speed gondola. Traveling from the base to Elk Camp Meadows in 8.5 minutes, the gondola provides access to Elk Camp, Alpine Springs and Burnt Mountain areas of Snowmass. Comfortable cabins transport 2,800 people per hour. Elk Camp Gondola is 8,560 feet long, with 1,360 vertical feet of rise.
NEW 2005-2006 SEASON…
Village Express Lift
The existing Fanny Hill chairlift was replaced with a six-passenger lift, the Village Express. A speedy 9.5-minute ride gets you from the bottom of Fanny Hill to the top of Sam's Knob, with a midway unloading station for those wishing to access beginner terrain. Village Express accommodates 2,800 people per hour, is 10,057 feet long and has 2,174 vertical feet of rise.
Sky Cab Gondola
A fast and fun aerial connection between existing Snowmass Village Mall and the new base village connects the two commercial centers and integrates conference activities. This two-minute ride (think of it as an elevator on cables between two retail centers) provides uphill or downhill connectivity to a one-of-a-kind Snowmass Village complex. Cabins are six-passenger. The new Sky Cab offers lower Fanny Hill skiing and snowboarding access for children's learn-to-ski/snowboard programs.
COMING IN THE FUTURE...
