New for 2008-2009 - Radio Frequency Gates
This season we will debut new radio frequency (RF) lift access gates that represent phase one of a two-year project to install gates at all lift access locations in Aspen/Snowmass by the year 2010. The total number of gates will increase this year from 15 to 22, and the new gates will have enhanced technology substantially increasing ease of use with longer range capabilities. Select high-volume lifts will have "open gate" technology, meaning you will be able to ski/ride through the gate without stopping. Additional gate locations with better technology means you spend less time in lift lines and more time skiing & riding!
Season passholders will automatically have their pass loaded on the new Gate Card (RF). Four-Mountain Foot Passes are excluded. Any ticket holder or Classic passholder can upgrade to a Gate Card for just $5. Gate Cards can be reloaded in subsequent seasons at no additional charge. There will no longer be bar code readers on the gates, so you will not be able to use these gates without a Gate Card.
