Our Zaugg pipe cutter was down Tuesday and Wednesday. But the pipe stayed in great shape and was very fun to ride anyways! The Zaugg is now fixed and the pipe was cut to perfection last night. With the mild sunny weather we have had, there's no better conditions to train for Sunday's USASA pipe competition in the Snowmass Pipe. Registration is at AVSC Clubhouse in the Mall from 8-9am. Practice is from 9-10am. Runs start at 10am. Awards will be given at 3pm at D&E.
The feature we built with Burton last year for the Transworld Shoot Out won this year's Terrain Park Contest from SAM Magazine. Check out this link to view entries and winners. http://www.saminfo.com/events/cutters.php?tid=1184
Snowmass 22ft pipe will open on Saturday! And so will our entry level park Lowdown, filled with jumps and jibs for getting your feet wet. Couple more pieces to the puzzle!
A couple of days ago we have opened the jib features on Bonzai, just as you get through the gate. You can now ride all the way down the park. Since, we have focused our energy on pushing at the pipe. The piles of snow are so big we have named them Cabin Peak! Expect our pipe to be ready maybe next week. We'll keep you posted.
Happy Holidays! Little Makaha Park on Snowmass will open for the season tomorrow. Come and hit our 3 jumps to get your feet wet! We have also set up a series of jibs for low intermediate and intermediate riders and skiers to enjoy.
Our 22 foot Superpipe is opening TODAY! Check it out.
If everything goes right with testing today, we will open our triple line and a couple jib features in Snowmass Park on Cabin tomorrow. We will add the lower section of the park run (to bottom of Coney Glades chair) Sunday. It will have another jump as well as some jib features. Coney Glades chair will run as of Saturday. Our next build will be focused in Makaha, starting Sunday. We hope to have it opened for Christmas!
Snowmaking is full bloom at Snowmass Park. We have started to push our triple jump line and are looking good for finishing them sometime next week. Little Makaha is also seen the manmade blizzard! With Buttermilk Park opening tomorrow as well, there’s lots of fun to be had!
Snowmass will open another park on Dawdler this morning! It will include an intermediate true-table style jump and a few jibs! We also will ad a jib or two in that park in the next days. See you on the hill!
Snowmaking has been making snow despite warm temperatures. We should have more features opening on Dawdler Bowl on Snowmass before the weekend!
This is it! Tomorrow is opening day! The whole Burn is scheduled to open! Even with the major snowmaking hurdles we encountered, we will still be able to open a few jib features on Lower Velvet for Thanksgiving. Then we are hoping to be able to add to our park offering in the next couple of days by adding more features on Dawdler Bowl, off mid-station. We’ll keep you posted.
Well now it’s very cold and guns have been on full blast since the weekend! With the fresh layer of snow form the last storm, it really feels like winter now! Hope this keeps up. Only 10 days until opening!
Indian summer has been longer then usual… With snow in the forecast for the next couple days, let’s hope it’s all snow and cold from now on! We continue with jib fabrication. Yesterday we constructed a 24ft long mailbox for Buttermilk’s park! We are only two weeks form opening at Snowmass! See you in the park very soon!
The snow guns are fired up! Keep your fingers and toes crossed that the temps stay below 28 degrees for the next two months. Lots of snow makes for BIG, FUN parks!
Jib fabrication season is ON! We have already rebuilt the Snowmass staircase and we are now recycling the Burton Wall ride into new jibs for Snowmass and Buttermilk.
Well the season is long over... And the summer sure is great! We have been busy at Snowmass getting all the jibs refurbished so they are money for when the snow starts falling. We are very close to being done with fixing up the old stuff and excited to get started on some new features! We'll keep you posted!
