Aspen/Snowmass Grooming Reports are typically updated between 7:30 and 8:00 each morning. Please remember, grooming maps
are only a guide. Please refer to on-mountain signage for the most current status of lifts and runs, and use judgement before proceeding down any trail.
| Welcome To Buttermilk |
| Famous as the home of the ESPN Winter X Games through 2010 (an unprecidented 9 year run!) and voted #1 by Transworld Snowboarding magazine Reader's Poll for best pipe, Buttermilk built its 50 year legacy on wide-open and gently rolling trails that cater to beginners and families. Keep an eye out for Winter X Games champs and other park kids braving the new Olympic-caliber, 22-foot superpipe in the legendary terrain park. |
| Powder Pandas! |
| Our pros are specially trained and love working with smaller kids. They work to create a nuturing yet challenging environment that makes learning fun. Drop your child off and head out to enjoy your day of skiing knowing that your child is in great hands. |
| ASC Enviro-Facts |
| Aspen/Snowmass is celebrating seven years as a third party ISO 14001 certifed resort. We are the first of only two ski resorts in the country to achieve this recognition. ISO 14001 certification is the most widely known and respected environmental stamp of approval, which demonstrates responsible management of a company's environmental impacts.
ASC made the first wind power purchase in the U.S. ski industry from Holy Cross Energy, (we still spend $25k annually on this direct wind power) then became the first large ski resort to buy renewable wind power credits from 2006 to 2008, and is now actively developing new renewable energy projects, like the 150kW CRMS solar array pictured here.
For seven years, we used clean, renewable Biodiesel in our snowcats because archaic federal diesel standards meant nasty particulate emissions. Finally, in 2007, diesel standards caught up. We phased out the use of biofuel in 2008. |
