NASTAR is the acronym for the National Standard Race and is the largest public recreational grassroots ski racing program in the world. Developed in 1968, NASTAR provides a fun, competitive and easily accessible recreational ski racing program that, through the development of a handicap system, allows skiers of all ages and abilities to compare themselves against their friends, family members and the U.S. Ski Team regardless of when and where they race. Public NASTAR courses in Aspen/Snowmass are available seven days a week on at least one of the three mountains listed below! Check below for specific times on each mountain.
Snowmass NASTAR The public NASTAR course on Blue Grouse trail is open Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm. Call ahead for closures due to private races or weather, 970-923-0560. RACE RESULTS

Prices: ADULTS: $11 for three runs CHILDREN (12 and under): $9 for three runs 10 Punch Pass (for adults or kids): $28 SEASON NASTAR PASS (for adults or kids): $119 to race all season on all three NASTAR courses! The Race Department will take racers’ best times against the pacesetter's time and handicap to determine medals according to age groups. Race Registration Groups desiring private NASTAR events are strongly encouraged to schedule race registration through Group Services. This service is COMPLIMENTARY. If your group is having an opening reception or party, the Race Department can send a representative to discuss race formats and organize pre-race paperwork. This eliminates congestion on race day. Special Group Racing Programs Try your hand at skiing, telemarking, or boarding with the locals during our Aspen Times Town Race Series. Races take place at Aspen Highlands on Saturdays, for the more and advanced skier, and Sundays for the more recreational skier, boarder or telemarker. Click here for more information.
Spider Sabich Race Arena The Spider Sabich Race Arena at Snowmass, located adjacent to the Coney Glade lift, provides a high-visibility venue for private group races. Access the race arena via the Village Express lift midstation; the race arena is located on Blue Grouse. The race arena is located on Cabin run to the skier's left. Alternative Race Formats (Snowmass only) Slalom, giant slalom, super G and FIS standard races are available upon request. Courses can be tailored to match your group's skill and competition levels. Fun Races (Snowmass only) Non-competitive team races can be set up for your group by the Snowmass Race Department. These obstacle-course relay races are run on beginner terrain and include non-skiing sections such as tray races. Cost: $150 for groups under 50 people and $250 for groups over 50 people. $150 deposit required. Please call Group Services at 970-923-0469 for more information.
Treasure Hunts (Snowmass only) This is a great way for a group to tour the mountain. Rhymed clues will take teams to seven different check points on the mountain where they will find a word or group of words. These words will be put together to form a sentence which leads them to the treasure. Treasure to be determined by the group. Cost: $200 for groups under 50 people and $300 for groups over 50 people. $200 deposit required. Please call Group Services at 970-923-0469 for more information.
