THE ASPEN TIMES TOWN RACE SERIES
The Aspen Times Town Race Series kicks off its 29th consecutive season in January 2010, making it the longest-running town race series in the country.

Individuals and teams are welcome; no prior race experience is necessary.  Competitors include skiers, telemarkers and snowboarders from novice to expert.

Snowboarders, telemarkers, and novice skiers compete in the recreational division on Sundays. Experienced racers ski in the advanced league on Saturdays.  Following every competition is a post-race party with great prizes, yummy snacks, race video and free beer courtesy of Anheuser Busch.

Entry fee is $26 per race, $130/individual for the race series, or $650 for a team of six for the season.  Click here for the 2008-2009 race schedule.

Special thanks are due to our race sponsors, without whom the Aspen Times Town Race Series could not offer the prizes and parties that help make it fun:

ROCKY MOUNTAIN MASTER G and Downhill

Aspen is a perrenial and favorite stop along the tour of the Rocky Mountain Masters, a group of competitors ranging in age from 20 year-olds just off the FIS racing circuit to octogenarians who refuse to grow up, and everything in between. Aspen hosts a Super G and downhill event on the Racer's Edge course, one of the more technical on the circuit.

Anyone over the age of 21 with better than intermediate skiing skills can participate in the event, which includes practice runs, race video, and post-race parties at Bumps Restaurant at the base of Buttermilk. Race experience is not required, but a helmet is. Long skis are encouraged.
