Uphill Status

Check the real-time uphill updates, routes, and status at our four mountains.

Updated April 15, 2024

Uphill Passes and straps are required on all Four Mountains through April 30.

  • Buttermilk, Aspen Highlands, and Snowmass: Uphill routes are unmaintained and uphilling is at your own risk. The runs are not groomed and you must be on the watch out for construction equipment. Call 911 in case of emergency.

  • Aspen Highlands Lower Route Update: There is a new uphill route at the base. Starting from the base, proceed on the hiker's right of Jerome as before, but you will now see a snow-making hydrant with an Uphill Sign on hiker's right. At that sign proceed across the bottom of Jerome Bowl, under the Exhibition lift. Follow signs to Park Avenue. When you reach the trees on hiker's right of Lower Stein climb the cat track approximately 30yds and turn right into the trees. The rest of the route to the MGR has not changed.Signage at the bottom of the mountains are the final call on access. On-mountain, a red X on the sign dictates a route closure.
  • For route status below, a gray X indicates Closed and a black check mark indicates Open.
  • As a reminder, uphill access is closed across our mountains from 10pm to 5am.
  • Aspen Mountain also has a designated downhill route. We ask that you ascend Spar and descend Copper Bowl from the top. If you don’t make it all the way to the top, please give a wide berth to uphill traffic.
  • For Uphillers wishing to download off the mountain, the following lifts are available for download:

Snowmass: Elk Camp Gondola and Two Creeks Lift

    Buttermilk: Summit Express

    Aspen Mountain: Silver Queen Gondola

    Aspen Highlands: Exhibition Lift
