Challenge Aspen

Since 1995, Challenge Aspen has provided adaptive recreational and cultural opportunities for thousands of individuals with disabilities from around the world. Based in Snowmass, Challenge Aspen is a leader and innovator in both winter and summer adaptive recreation. In the summer, Challenge Aspen offers outstanding therapeutic art, drama and outdoor adventure camps to children with physical and mental disabilities; Rocky Mountain outdoor adventures to newly injured veterans, and elite ski-race training for adults with disabilities. Aspen Camp School for the Deaf

Join ACSD in celebrating 30 years in offering exceptional experiences for deaf and hard of hearing children! The ACSD has developed a unique program where children and teens have fun, learn new skills, make new friends and feel good about themselves. The ACSD annually hosts more than 100 campers, ages 8 to 18, during one to three week sessions throughout each summer. Extreme Sports Camp for Autistic Youth and Young Adults

Are you ready for adventure? Extreme Sports Camp is an individualized outdoor sports program in the Aspen-Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado for youth and young adults (ages 5 and up) across the autism spectrum. We use autism-friendly/autism-engineered approaches that inspire fun and athletic accomplishment. Our camper to counselor ratio exceeds 1:1. Sessions run weekly in June, July and August as well as December-April. Our mission is to enhance the health, abilities, personal growth and social engagement of people with autism through challenging, attainable and enjoyable athletic programs which lead to the incorporation of recreational sports into daily life. Participants of any athletic ability can succeed. We pride ourselves in ensuring progress in our sports while having lots of fun! Our staff receives extensive training in autism learning styles and characteristics. We use positive behavior approaches and communication supports such as social stories and visual schedules.
