Coldwell Banker Town Race Series

When: Begins January 17, 2015

Where: Aspen Highlands

The Coldwell Banker Mason Morse Town Race Series kicks off its 34th season on January 17th as the longest running town race series in North America! 

The CBMM Town Race Series consists of three giant slalom competitions and three slalom competitions spread throughout the winter. The race series will be scored both on an individual, and a team basis. We also offer a Speed Series which consists of the John Meyer Memorial SG/Town Downhill February 20-22 and the BOOTech Super Combined SG/SL on March 28. We also will be hosting the Rocky Mountain Masters DH on February 2-4 and the Masters FIS Cup SG/GS/GS/SL February 5-8 at Racer’s Edge at Buttermilk.

Essential Information

Registration: Everyone is welcome, but must register to race.  We offer a Recreational and an Advanced Division as well as  a family class which will challenge the parents and their children to spend time in gates together on race days!

Race day registration for Saturday day races will be in the Aspen Highlands mall from 8:00-9:30am.  The races will begin at 10:30 with the Recreational Division, followed by the advanced division.  

Note: Once you are signed up for the season you may register for the day’s race by phone or email. You may call the Race Information line by 7am on race day at 970-544-3029 and leave your name, bib number, team, and division. You may also email by 7am on race day with the same info.

Entry Fees: Individual entry fees for the Coldwell Banker Mason Morse Town Race Series are $35 per race for adults and $20 for juniors or $175 for the 6-race series and $100 for juniors. Team entry fees for the whole season are $850 per team of six. Racers of all ages are welcome and can race as individuals or form a team of six.  The speed series event fees are as follows: The John Meyer Memorial Race SG/DH fees are $31 for SG only,  $75 DH only or $82 for both events. The fee for the BOOTech Super Combined SG/SL is $35.

Race Courses:   Each race will consist of two courses side by side.  Each competitor will take 2 runs, one on each course. One slalom and three giant slalom races will be held on the skier’s right of Golden Horn and Thunderbowl runs at Aspen Highlands, and we will host  two slaloms on North American Run on Aspen Mountain.


The Advanced Division

Designed for the more experienced ski racer. Competitors include former national team, collegiate racer’s, Masters racer’s as well as seasoned skiers interested in pushing their skiing to the next level. Scoring is based on combined time from two consecutive runs, one in each course. Team scoring will consist of no more than two A Racers and two others. Race order will be: Adaptive, Women, Men 60+, 50+,  40+,  B’s, A's. The second run will be reversed within each class. 

Recreational Division – Snowboard, Telemark, Families and Recreational Ski Racers

Designed for snowboarders, telemarkers, beginning level ski racers and families. Competitors include children, women, men, and visiting NASTAR racers interested in making friends, having fun and getting better! Scoring is based on the best of two runs that you will take on each course and the three single fastest times for the team results.  The Recreational Division will start at 10:30am.

The Family Division will be scored by taking the single best time from a child and a parent for their Family team score. Recreational start order is: Kids, Women, Men Snowboard, Telemark

January 24        Slalom at Aspen Mtn, with post race party at Ryno's

February 14 Giant Slalom at Aspen Highlands with post race party at 39 Degrees

February 28 Slalom at Aspen Mtn. with post race party at 39 Degrees

March 14 Giant Slalom at Aspen Highlands with post race party at Highlands Alehouse

March 21 Slalom at Aspen Highlands with post race party at Highlands Alehouse
