Coldwell Banker Town Race Series

When: Begins January 17, 2014

The Coldwell Banker Town Race Series kicks off its 34th season on January 17th as the longest running town race series in North America! 

The Coldwell Banker Town Race Series consists of three giant slalom competitions and three slalom competitions spread throughout the winter. The race series will be scored both on an individual, and a team basis. We are also offering the Speed Series which consists of the John Meyer Memorial SG/Town Downhill February 20-22 and the BOOTech Super Combined SG/SL on March 28. We also will be hosting the Rocky Mountain Masters DH on February 2-4 and the Masters FIS Cup SG/GS/GS/SL February 5-8 at Racer’s Edge at Buttermilk.

Essential Information

Registration: Registration for the races and our post-race parties will be at the new Highlands Ale House. We again will be combining the Recreational and Advanced Division and we are offering a family class which will challenge the parents and their children to spend time in gates together on the race days!

Race day registration for Saturday day races will be at the Highlands Ale House from 8:00-9:30am.  The races will begin after the Recreational Division race.   

Note: Once you are signed up for the season you may register for the day’s race by phone or email. You may call the Race Information line by 7am on race day at 970-544-3029 and leave your bib number, your name, team and division. You may also email by 7am on race day with the same info.

Entry Fees: Individual entry fees for the Aspen Times Town Race Series are $30 per race for adults and $20 for juniors or $150 for the 6-race series and $100 for juniors. Team entry fees for the whole season are $750 per team of six. Racers of all ages are welcome and can race as individuals or form a team of six.  The speed series event fees are as follows: The John Meyer Memorial Race SG/DH fees are $31 SG only and $75 DH only or $82 for both events. The fee for the BOOTech Super Combined SG/SL is $35.

Race Courses: Two of our slaloms and three giant slalom races will be held on the skier’s right of Golden Horn and Thunderbowl runs and we will host the March 1st slalom on North American Run on Aspen Mountain.


The Advanced League 

Designed for the more experienced ski racer. Competitors include former national team, collegiate racer’s, Masters racer’s as well as seasoned skiers interested in pushing their skiing to the next level. Scoring is based on combined time from two consecutive runs, one in each course. Team scoring will consist of no more than two A Racers and two others, 60+50+ 40+ B’s Disabled or Women. Advanced Division Race Order:

  • Slalom: Disabled, Women, Men 60+, Men 50+, Men 40+, Men’s A, Men’s B, Young Adults
  • Giant Slalom: Disabled, Women, Men 60+, Men 50+, Men 40+, Men’s B, and Men’s A, Young Adults 

The second run will be reversed within each class. 

Recreational Division – Snowboard, Telemark, Families and Recreational Ski Racers

Designed for snowboarders, telemarkers, beginning level ski racers and families. Competitors include children, women, men, and visiting NASTAR racers interested in making friends, having fun and getting better! Scoring is based on the best of two runs that you will take on each course and the three single fastest times for the team results.  The Recreational Division will start at 10:30am.

The Family Division will be scored by taking the single best time from a child and a parent for their Family team score. Recreational Division race order: 

  • Children

  • Men
  • Snowboard
  • Telemark


The Aspen Times will once again serve as the title sponsor for the league. Anheuser-Busch will continue to provide our post-race refreshments thanks to our locally-owned Orrison Distributing.
