The Meeting: Conference Details

The Meeting will include a one-day conference powered by Group Y on Friday October 3rd with individual sessions that allow for discussion and networking. The speakers create a compelling line-up that brings outside perspective to facilitate thought-provoking discussion around a variety of topics rooted in growing snow sports business. Online registration is now closed. Registration will be available on site at The Limelight Hotel from 12PM to 6PM on Thursday and 9AM to 4PM on Friday.

In 2014, the conference portion of The Meeting will gather top minds from inside snow sports and outside to lead a series of discussions on a range of topics. The conversations regarding content, digital landscape, brand activation, licensing and connecting action sports with the mainstream are certain to continue while new topics will be introduced.

Registration is required to attend the conference as well as gain access to other select elements of the event. The event pass is $349 before Sept. 22nd and $399 after. We are offering access to only the conference on Friday, October 3rd for $225. This does not include access to any other events at The Meeting or benefits of the event pass.

2014 Conference Speakers

Rob Campbell is the General Manager and Editor-In-Chief of Transworld Business, the action sports industry's leading source for trade news, trends, and new product information. Rob has worked in media for over 20 years, serving a number of key roles including editor at Snowboarder Magazine and Editorial Director for Transworld Media.

Kim Coupounas heads B Lab, Colorado, state chapter of the Benefit Corporation movement, which supports businesses that want to do good as well as make money. Kim is co-founder of Boulder-based outdoor manufacturer and retailer GoLite, where she served as CEO and Chief Sustainability Officer. She has also served as Chairman of the Board of the Outdoor Industry Association.
Patrick Crawford has worked in every aspect of snow media over the last two decades, from print magazines to global digital media properties to corporate content strategy. Currently, he is co-founder and partner of Inkwell Media and founder of Cadence Media Strategy, both custom marketing and strategy agencies. His current work includes content marketing, social media strategy and execution and content strategy for a variety of digital properties.
Chris Davenport, two-time World Champion skier, is widely regarded as one of the premier big mountain skiers in the world today. Among his many ski mountaineering achievements, in 2007 Chris became the first person to ski all fifty-four of Colorado’s 14,000-foot peaks in less than one year. He has numerous first descents of peaks around the globe under his belt, and recently guided and skied on Mt. Everest. Chris has been featured in more than thirty ski films by Warren Miller and Matchstick Productions.
Rob Faris, SVP of Programming & Production at Outside Television, is a four-time Emmy winning producer & executive, has been part of high profile productions like the 2004 Summer Olympics, and ESPN’s signature documentary series “SportsCentury.” But his most rewarding act, is his current one – the creation from scratch – of an exclusively high-def programming environment that enables millions to escape vicariously to the world’s most exotic locales or lose themselves amid the most captivating personalities and stories.
Abe Kislevitz handles media production at GoPro. He is a media creator, tech geek, and an outdoor enthusiast.
T.A. McCann is a CEO, an entrepreneur, a member of two America Cup teams and founder of Rival IQ.
Chris Miller is Social Mission Activism Manager at Ben & Jerry’s, where he develops consumer facing activism campaigns that support the company’s progressive mission and values. Previously Chris led the sustainability work at Seventh Generation, directed Greenpeace USA’s national climate campaign and served on the staff of then Congressman Bernie Sanders.
Tim Reed, Senior Director, Events & Content X Games, oversees creative development and the day-to-day operations and execution of X Games events. In addition to his events responsibilities, Reed drives the year-round content strategy and development for the X Games brand. Prior to his current role, Reed oversaw the planning and daily execution of Sports & Competition, Event Production, Medical and Logistics departments for X Games, where he led development of key X Games sports components including: RallyCross, the first temporary concrete courses, the first fan-voted event around Moto X Best Whip and created the discipline of Moto X Speed & Style. He also launched the first digital X Games competition, Real Street, which has grown into the Real Series franchise.
Auden Schendler is Vice President of Sustainability at Aspen Skiing Company, board chair of Protect Our Winters, and author of the book Getting Green Done.
Matty Swanson is the Director of Action Sports Marketing at Oakley, Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of casual and performance eyewear, apparel, shoes and watches. He has been with Oakley for nearly 17 years, having worked in various roles prior to his current position. He is also an Executive Producer with 1242 Productions, a media production arm of Oakley, and has worked on several award-winning film projects during that tenure.
