Official Rules & Information

Race Date:  Saturday March 8, 2014 at 10:00 am

                                *Weather Date: Sunday March 9, 2014 at 10:00am.

Location:      Aspen Highlands – Loge Peak Area

Registration:    Aspen Highlands Guest Service Information - Please register early!

Racer registration will start on Saturday March 1st through Friday March 7th from 8:30am to 4:00pm daily.  March 8th, day of race, registration closes at Guest Service promptly at 9:00am.

Cost:               $20.00 Entry fee includes Inferno 13 T-shirt and an Awards Party and BBQ at Loge Patrol HQ starting at 12:00

Lift Ticket:    Racer lift ticket available at $57.00 + $5.00 media deposit.

Waiver:        Adult racers must sign a waiver of liability upon registration and must be 18 years old or over.  Junior racers (17 & UNDER), must sign a waiver along with the Indemnification signed by Parent or Guardian.

Divisions:       Male Competitive, Female Competitive, Male Recreational, Female Recreational and Junior (under 17).

Prizes:         ALL Division winners receive prizes

                       

*Race Inspection:  Racers may ride an early lift for course inspection from 8:00am to 9:30am. 

  Patrol strongly recommends that racers inspect the course! 

*Course will be set up by Thursday for early inspection – Don’t be surprised!

Race Start:   Racers should be at Loge Peak by 9:45am to prepare for 10:00am race start.

A secure area will be provided for racer gear not used during race.

Equipment:   It is required racers have and use a ski helmet.  Racers must have alpine skis, telemark skis or snowboards, equipped with ski brakes or leashes.

The Race:      Racers will mass start this year.  Racers will place their skis or boards in the Loge Peak area, proceed to race start at the top of Deep Temerity lift. Racers will descend Broadway, ascend Mousetrap, grab or attach skis at the Loge Peak area, skate or run along cat road to Loge Meadow, ascend Highland Ridge to Highland Peak.  Once racers have passed through the gate at the peak it is an open course.  Racers can descend any open terrain in the Highland Bowl.  There is a gate at the entrance to Bear Hollow Road.  Race route is subject to change and final route will be presented at the mandatory pre race meeting.

Awards:       Awards will be given out at the party and BBQ starting at 12:00 at Loge Patrol HQ
