The Aspen/Snowmass Open is one of the last and longest running independent open competitions in the nation. Unique in the fact that it opens up the X Games Aspen slopestyle and superpipe courses to amateur and professional level athletes, the open drew around 200 competitors from 6 nations to test their skills last season. Also offered are a rail jam and big air competition. 

We expect to announce dates for the 2015 Aspen/Snowmass Open in May and registration will open in November.

Registration: Registration will go live November 3 at 12pm and can be found on this webpage. Registration prices will go up January 20. 

Athlete Age Requirements: Athletes must be at least 14 years of age as of December 31, 2014 to compete per FIS rules. Any athlete under the age of 18 will need to bring a waiver signed by a guardian to registration. The waivers can be found on the registration site.

Refund Policy:  Entry fees will be refunded ONLY to athletes with a valid medical reason under the following provisions: Entry fees will be refunded if requested 1 week prior to first day of event onsite registration. Participants must have a valid medical reason and documentation, each case will be reviewed. A 25% service charge will be deducted from all refunds. All refunds are at the sole discretion of Aspen/Snowmass. Absolutely no refunds will be given after the above date regardless of reason and no refunds will be given due to event cancellation. Registrations are non-transferable.

 

FIS noram cup

The Aspen/Snowmass Freeskiing Open is an AFP Gold Level event.  The Association of Freeskiing Professionals is an organization responsible for implementing a balanced global rider ranking system and to serve as a unified voice for athletes and our sport. Made up of top athletes and key influencers within the sport of freeskiing, the AFP is proactive in the future direction of events, judging, growth and evolution of the sport as well as fostering opportunities for emerging riders to climb a clear ladder to higher levels of competition. The Aspen/Snowmass Freesking Open is also a FIS NorAm Cup event. All competitors must be 14 years old as of December 31, 2013 in order to compete. In addition, U.S. competitors must have their USSA & FIS license and all foreign competitors their FIS license before the first day of registration.
