WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW

WE OPENED EARLY!
Aspen Mountain is now open. The mountain opened with the most vertical feet in the country with top-to-bottom skiing and riding across 120 acres of terrain. The Silver Queen Gondola and Ajax Express is open as will the Sundeck and Ajax Tavern for food and drink. A recent storm brought over 21 inches to Aspen Mountain which has allowed for favorable conditions to open the mountain early.

SNOWMASS OPENING: THURSDAY NOVEMBER 27
Snowmass will open with approximately 480 acres including the Burn and 5 lifts will be turning. Up for Pizza will be open Thursday - Sunday, Sam's Coffee Shop, Ullrhof, and Elk Camp will open for the season.

LIFT TICKETS   
All season passes are valid as they would be in the scheduled season. Daily lift tickets for November 22-26 are $79 for adults, $73 for teens (13-17) and seniors (65-69), and $59 for children (7-12). As always, children six and under ski for free. A special rate will be extended to passholders at any other resort. Skiers and riders can simply present a valid pass from any other resort and receive the discounted rates of $55 for adults, $51 for teens (13-17) and seniors (65-69), and $41 for children (7-12).


SKI SCHOOL
The Ski and Snowboard School on Aspen Mountain is open for private lessons - intermediate and above levels, ski and snowboard, starting November 22. Ski and Snowboard Children’s Group Lessons for ages 7 to 17 will be offered on Aspen Mountain starting November 22 through November 26.   Children must be at an intermediate or above level. Please call 970-923-1227 to arrange your all lessons as reservations are required.

FOUR MOUNTAIN SPORTS
D&E and Four Mountain Sports in Aspen will also be open with ski and snowboard rentals and tuning available. Parking is free in Aspen until November 25.Aspen Mountain and Buttermilk are both undergoing preparations for the 2014-15 ski and ride season. UPHILL INFO
Aspen Mountain and Buttermilk are both undergoing preparations for the 2014-15 ski and ride season. In an effort to keep our guests and the community safe we ask you to abide by any marked or communicated closures.

Buttermilk
Due to ongoing construction Main Buttermilk parking lot is closed. We ask employees and the public to avoid uphilling on Main Buttermilk and use Tiehack. If access to Main Buttermilk is needed please park at the Inn at Aspen and access the mountain from east of the Inn. The Buttermilk Ticket office is not open for ticket sales or pass pickup until December 13.  
 
Aspen Mountain
In preparation for the 2014 Audi FIS Ski World Cup at the Nature Valley Aspen Winternational which takes place November 29-30, the west side of Aspen Mountain is closed to employees and the public. Little Nell, Bingo and Spar all remain open for uphill traffic. Please be respectful of any closure signs as they are placed in the best interest of the safety of the community. Uphillers should also be aware of snowmobiles, snowcats moving on the hill and snowmaking operations.


Aspen Speaker Series - (Nov. 26) Come hear from Lou Helmuth of Our Children’s Trust about an effort to have the U.S. Supreme Court consider a case seeking to reduce the impacts of climate change. Join like-minded locals for stimulating speakers presenting cutting edge issues on climate and sustainability. These events are open to the public and fall perfectly into the Limelight Lounge’s happy hour from 3pm-7pm, come early or stay later for dinner. More info...

Thanksjibbing - (Nov. 28) Join us for ThanksJibbing! This rail jam featuring invited athletes will take place at 2pm in Snowmass Base Village. Come watch skiers and snowboarders throw down for their piece of the cash purse and check out the post-Thanksgiving action at Base Village with kids activities, a bouncy castle, Turkey Bowling, a restaurant leftover challenge, a real live DJ and much more! Aspen Winternational - (Nov. 29 - 30)
The world’s fastest women skiers will once again take Aspen Mountain by storm over Thanksgiving weekend. Spectators near and far are invited to the base of Lift 1A on Aspen Mountain to enjoy prime viewing of the finish line from the grandstands. Live television coverage by NBC and NBC Sports will capture the excitement that embodies World Cup racing. The weekend includes the first Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series of the season.
