Nature Programs

Join naturalists from the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) for a FREE nature hike or walk at Snowmass or Aspen Mountain. Naturalists will share tips on wildflowers, tracking animals, observing birds and understanding the sub-alpine community. ACES Guided Nature Walks on Aspen Mountain
Daily June 16 - September 3
ACES naturalists lead these FREE 45-minute walks along Richmond Ridge at the top of Aspen Mountain. Learn about the native trees, birds and animals that thrive in the high-alpine environment. Tours meet at the top of the gondola (lift ticket purchase required) on the hour from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  

ACES Guided On-Mountain Nature Walks/Hikes at Snowmass
Daily, June 22 - September 3
Let a naturalist from the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) guide you on a walk through the beautiful subalpine forest, while taking in the views and learning about local wildlife. Offered daily at 1 p.m. Meet at the top of the Elk Camp Gondola (lift tickt purchase required) Monday through Thursday; meet at the top of the Elk Camp lift Friday through Sunday.

For something more kid-friendly and family-oriented, a Nature Trail walk is offered daily at 10 a.m., leaving from the Snowmass Ticket Pavilion.

All walks are FREE and last approximately two hours.
