One bike to master four disciplines. One mountain with 4,000 vertical feet of trail descent.

When it comes to mountain bike races, the Master of the Mass is a beast of an event.

Join us for this four-stage, three-day mountain biking race in Snowmass will be hosted July 12-14, 2013. The Enduro Mountain Bike Race demands that riders conquer a variety of terrain including chainless downhill, cross-country, downhill and super-downhill stages. The ultimate challenge — all racers must ride on one bike for all four disciplines.

Parties and events will surround the weekend of mountain biking, all set among the beautiful scenery of Snowmass at the height of wildflower season. Learn more by consulting the event schedule.

Plus, Shock Top Belgian White will raffle off a 2013 Yeti mountain bike at the conclusion of the race. The only way to win is by registering. All race participants will be automatically entered and must be present to win.

Divisions:

  • Pro Male
  • Pro Female
  • Amateur Male
  • Amateur Female
  • Junior
  • Note: The pro division will have a $3,000 prize purse.

New this year, final results will be based on cumulative scoring and not cumulative times in racing divisions of Pro Men/Women and Amateur Men/Women. A Junior Division for ages 13–17 has also been added to the race this year.

About the Mountain

Bike Snowmass is one of the only places in Colorado with a trail system that has more than 4,000 vertical feet of continuous, descending terrain from the top of a chairlift. Unlike any other race, riders will tackle more than 8,000 vertical feet of descending terrain in the four-stage race.

2013 Rules:

Timing: NEW this year we will be using a point system instead of cumulative time to combine all the stages. Each stage will be worth the same amount of points. You can find the point system here. Winners from each individual stage will be announced daily.

Pro Categories

Equipment: Riders in our pro category will need to use the same bike for all stages but can change out their wheel set, pedals and tires in between stages.

Downhill Course: The Pro Men riders must complete the road drop section of the course. If participants decide not to take the air they must walk that section. Pro Women will have an alternate route to ride around the road drop section if they do not take the air. Full-face helmet is required for all participants and body armor is highly recommended.

AM and Junior Categories

Equipment: Riders in our AM & Junior categories will need to use the same bike for all stages but can only change pedals and tires between stages (note these categories will not be able to change wheelsets).

Downhill Course: Both AM & Juniors will have an alternate route to ride around the road drop section if they do not take the air. Full-face helmet is required for all participants and body armor is highly recommended for AM and mandatory for Juniors.
