4:30 pm:   Goldsprint Series in Snowmass

The Goldsprint Series, formerly known as Downhill Fridays, is back once again in Snowmass, inviting riders to clock their best time from the top of Elk Camp down to Snowmass Base Village. This seven-race series of downhill mountain bike races will be held June 22, July 6, 20, 27 and August 10. There will be a men’s, women’s and junior (16 & under) division.  The course will follow the Vapor Trail and then alternate routes between a variety of trails on the lower half of Snowmass including Snowmass Way, Valhalla (formerly Gravity Logic) and Easy Rider (formerly Alpine Funnel). The route for each week will be announced on Wednesday prior to the race. Registration will be open at the Snowmass Ticket Office until 4:30 pm.  The last gondola ride up to the course is at 5 pm and the race will start at 5:30 pm.  The cost for one race is $25 or $150 for all seven races.  The weekly prize purse for each division is $100 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd place and $25 for 3rd.

3 - 6 pm: Music with David Jacobs-Strain

David Jacobs-Strain is a virtuosic slide guitar player and a storyteller with a passionate one-man show that is both humorous and deeply lyrical. A bridge between today’s indie folk troubadours and the delta guitar slingers of the 1930's, David plays with precision and sings with emotional abandon. He’s a six-foot-two Jewish blues singer from Oregon, a Stanford drop out in a trucker hat, and a left coast poet.
