Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro is legendary for a reason: channeling authentic European Alpine culture in a warm, welcoming environment.
Lunch service feels like a slice of Switzerland in the Rocky Mountains with layered helpings of fondue and raclette as well as steak tartare, caviar and delectable daily specials. The wine list includes an ever-changing array of international varieties and fine Champagne. For dessert: chocolate fondue, anyone? And a new locals secret: brunch menus available Mon-Wed at 11:30am, starting at $40 per person.
Guests must be 21 or older to enter the après seating, with a valid ID required at entry. Failure to present an ID, or presenting a fake ID, will result in denied access and may lead to reporting to authorities in compliance with local laws.
NEW for a limited time: non-skiers can access Cloud Nine for après by reserving the Snowmobile Experience.

Snowcat Dinners
The magical, cabin-in-the-woods setting of The Cabin is amplified after dusk with this unique dinner experience on Snowmass. And back this year, Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro hosts open to the public snowcat dinners on Aspen Highlands.
Executive Chef Michael Johnston has been a cornerstone of Aspen’s culinary scene since 2009. After relocating to the Roaring Fork Valley from Pennsylvania, he started his career with Aspen Skiing Company, spending three years at the Snowmass Club before advancing to Chef de Cuisine at Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro in 2012 and quickly earning the title of Executive Chef by 2015.
Michael continually refines his craft, creating unforgettable culinary experiences for worldwide guests, acclaimed Michelin Chefs, celebrities, and renowned restaurateurs. He has been recognized as Aspen Skiing Company’s Mountain Dining Chef of the Year in 2014 and 2022 and led Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro to earn USA Today’s 3rd Best Ski Restaurant in the Country in 2025.
Michael believes that exceptional dining begins with simplicity, seasonality, and authenticity. His approach focuses on sourcing the finest local ingredients, honoring classic techniques, and creating dishes that celebrate the alpine experience while delivering bold, memorable flavors.
