ON-MOUNTAIN FUN

Guided "Out-Of-Bounds" Skiing Tour - Aspen Expeditions offers a back country experience from Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands or Snowmass. IFMGA/AMGA certified mountain guides take you backcountry skiing, ski touring, ice climbing and ski and winter mountaineering, 970-925-ROCK (7625).

Snowmass

Free First Tracks - Head out with members of the Mountain Operations team on Aspen Mountain and Snowmass, offered everyday at Aspen Mountain and every Wednesday and Friday at Snowmass, 800-525-6200. Valid lift ticket and reservations required.

Tube Town - Located on Assay Hill at Snowmass, Tube Town is a thrilling alternative to skiing/riding, or an exciting après activity, for the entire family.

Paintball - Come out and play in our new indoor paintball warehouse! All equipment and protective gear are supplied. (Kids must be 6 and older.) For more information or to make reservations call Snowmass Mountain Outfitters at 970-923-8647.

Snowmass Snowshoe Tours - Weave in and out of spruce-fir forest along a babbling creek and learn about the animals that inhabit the Rocky Mountains in winter. Cost includes lift ride, snack and warm drink, snowshoes, knowledgeable guide and basic instruction. Purchase tickets at any lift ticket office. No reservations necessary.

Free Guide Skiing/Riding Nature Tour - ACES' naturalists lead the 45-minute skiing explorations every day at Snowmass. Tours are conducted at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., meeting at the top of Elk Camp outside the Wapiti Wildlife Center. Ski tours require a minimum age of 8 years and intermediate skiing ability. Aspen Mountain

Othello's Rail Riders - Just a few yards away from the Sundeck restaurant, former competitive skateboarder and snowboarder, Othello partners with Aspen Skiing Company to teach rail riding. Camp attendees will learn to get on a rail properly, terrain park etiquette, balance, how to land, what not to do and tricks! The camp also has a hut with video games, music, records and DVD's. When the sun is out, catch Othello firing up the Jacuzzi and grilling hot dogs for the crew for lunch.

Aspen Highlands

On-Mountain Dining - Check out the European flair and gourmet cuisine at Cloud Nine, a genuine mountain cabin with a romantic atmosphere. Sit-down lunches are served daily or join your friends for a glass of wine or schnapps on the deck. Throughout the winter, Cloud Nine also offers special evening dining where a limited number of guests take an open-air snowcat up the mountain to the restaurant. This winter watch for more options to enjoy Cloud Nine, such as ski-in après parties followed by a snowcat trip down the mountain under the evening stars.

Buttermilk

Mountain Dining The Cliffhouse atop Buttermilk serves up hefty views of Pyramid Peak along with its famous Mongolian BBQ. Watch while the chef creates your made-to-order feast on a hot metal "tava" plate. Tasty salads and other more traditional fare also available.

OFF THE SLOPES

Cross Country Skiing - For those who like to keep their feet on the ground, Aspen/Snowmass offers over 80k of cross-country trails - including the largest free trail system in North America.

Magic & Comedy Shows - Enjoy the free magic and comedy shows nightly at the Tower Magic Bar and Restaurant in Snowmass. A magician will astound you with his comedic sleight of hand.

Skate Park - Aspen's free municipal skate park is adjacent to Rio Grande Park on lower Mill Street. This concrete park is 17,000 square feet, made up of an angel shaped bowl with (2) seven-foot bowls, a five-foot bowl and a ten-foot bowl. The street are ranges from 3 - 6 feet with a foot extension with pool coping and a spine that connects to the mini bowl. Helmets are required.

Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) - Check out affordable family evenings at ACES. Naturalist Nights are held every Thursday evening and Potbelly Perspectives, which feature tales of travels and adventures, are held on Wednesdays.

Ceramic Painting - The Kolor Wheel, at 720 East Durant, offers hands-on arts and crafts for adults and children. Make and paint your own ceramics.

Aspen Recreation Center (ARC) - Located near the base of Aspen Highlands, this new 83,000-sq. ft. recreation facility provides a NHL sized ice rink for public ice-skating and skate rentals. The aquatic area has a 6 lane, 25-yard competitive swimming pool, and a leisure pool full of interactive water features including a two-story water slide, hot tubs, steam rooms, and locker rooms. There is also a 32-foot climbing tower and a concession stand for drinks and snacks.

Hot Air Balloon Rides - Try an early morning hot air balloon flight with Above it All or the Unicorn Balloon Company.

Cooking Schools of Aspen - Want to learn a new culinary skill? Cooking Schools of Aspen offers hands on and demonstrations with the finest chefs from all over the world.

Aspen Art Museum - Need a dose of culture? Aspen Art Museum is recognized internationally for presenting outstanding exhibitions with a particular emphasis on contemporary art. Aspen Art Museum offers a reception and gallery tour every Thursday evening and free admission on Fridays.

Spas - How about a relaxing day at the spa? Visit The Aspen Club & Spa, 02 or the spa at the St. Regis for a full day of sublime pampering. All around Aspen, there are many beauty shops offering waxing, facials, manicures and pedicures including the Cos Bar and Red Salon.
