NOVEMBER

  • Thanksgiving
    Turkey Day is Opening Day for Snowmass & Aspen Mountain. Carve up the slopes and then head home to carve up your turkey. Special Thanksgiving dinners are often offered around town. November 25.
  • FIS Women's Alpine World Cup
    World Cup racing kicks off at Aspen/Snowmass with the women's GS. Watch the finest female skies in the world race down Aspen Mountain. Fri., Nov. 26 - Women's GS (Thanksgivingn Day), Sat., Nov. 27 - Women's SL, Sun., Nov. 28 - Women's SL

    DECEMBER

  • 20th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony
    An Aspen tradition at the Sardy House. Celebrate the season under one of the area's oldest and largest Christmas trees, singing carols with the Dickens Carolers and enjoy free hot chocolate and cookies. Aspen, December 5, 2004.
  • Snowmass Village Mall Festivities Watch the Dickens Carolers perform on the Snowmass Village Mall and at local restaurants.
  • Spot Santa Around Town Around Christmas, Santa and his live reindeer can be spotted on the slopes and around town. Be sure not to miss Santa's surprise appearances at various local hotels and shops around town in Aspen/Snowmass.
  • Celebrate the New Year Spend the last day of 2004 hitting the slopes. Then hit the town and search out the best parties at one of the hundreds of hotels, bars and restaurants. And do not miss the fireworks above Aspen Mountain from your favorite balcony. Don't celebrate too much so you can enjoy the first day of 2005 on the slopes again.

    JANUARY

  • Wintersköl
    Aspen celebrates Wintersköl, a spirited tribute to winter. For four days, more than 20,000 locals and visitors from around the world join in the celebration. Wintersköl features events in downtown Aspen and the four area mountains. Events include a lively parade, the famed canine fashion show, the wild Snowmass ski splash, Buttermilk Uphill, a fireworks extravaganza over Aspen Mountain and much more. Four Mountains, January 13-16, 2005.

    FEBRUARY

  • Mardi Gras in the Mountains
    The southern tradition of Fat Tuesday comes to the Snowmass Village Mall with the authentic Mardi Gras in the mountains. Activities include a Mardi Gras parade, mask making, King Cake giveaway and the Mother of All Ascensions snowshoe race. February 8, 2005.
  • A Valentine's Paradise There are few places on the globe that rival Aspen/Snowmass' beauty and romantic mood. With mountain-top dining, horse-drawn carriage rides and intimate hotel suites, Aspen/Snowmass is the idea destination for an unforgettable Valentine's getaway. February 14, 2005.

    MARCH

  • Spring Break at 8,000 feet
    The high country is the place to be to celebrate spring break. With endless snow, sun, events and music, Aspen/Snowmass' Bud Light Spring Jam is four-day whirlwind of events not to be missed. The excitement kicks-off on St. Patrick's Day with the Budweiser Hi-Fi Concert Series, followed by KickAspen Big Air, the Aspen Rail Revolution, The Core Party and the NEPSA Awards. March 17-20.
  • Easter Head to the top of Aspen Mountain for a non-denominational sunrise service with stunning vistas as the backdrop. Stay for a bit and enjoy breakfast. Ski down or take the Silver Queen Gondola. March 27.
